The Jill scene had me more thinking she meant herself, as she was trying to convince Chris to go - but the more I think about it (since I have) I think it's meant to either open-ended or including both her and Sheva. Trusting Jill when she said she was fine and he had to get going to stop Wesker, and trusting Sheva to have his back. I actually really like that it's more of an open-ended line.

But overall, the partner focus wasn't a problem for me. Maybe overdoes it in the in-game parts with the AI communication, but other than that, partnership was the emphasis on RE5.

I guess partner was a better saying than "saddle up!!!!"

maybe saddle up was used by Kirk....

The worst "Partner Moment" for me was when Excella was doubled over in Uroboros-related pain, crying about Wesker, and Sheva and Chris have this exchange:

        "I thought they were partners?"
"Wesker doesn't give a damn about anyone but himself."

What is this, an after-school special? Yes, yes we get it. Good guys know how to share, bad guys don't. There was really no need to underline Excella's obvious betrayal by Wesker with this bit of dialogue, just to really hammer the partner-theme into our skulls.

          I thought exactlly the same.
but all in all, I think it was well done, the game had a big partner feel to it, and it was well developed, still... I think Jill should have had a bigger roll in the game, but I'm not a fan of her, so I don't care that much

I didn't care for the emphasis of "partners" towards the beginning. When Jill said her line it became "okay this is kind of silly," and when Sheva referred to Excella and Wesker as partners, it escalated to "Jesus fucking Christ." So in short, yes, I eventually couldn't stand that dialogue motif. As someone said, way too childish.

I really hope partnership won't be the theme for RE6. IMO partnership just isn't RE material (gameplay wise), even with the new direction the series has taken. There's much more tension and fear when your alone, something RE5 didn't have.

It'll be trios this time around. It's all about the BOW bustin' bitch slappin' shit talkin' triple threats. Nothing will be worked on more than the new three-way co-op aspect. The villains will be a revived Birkin, Wesker, and Spencer. They now randomly stab people in back alleys with virus syringes, teleporting away after the deed is done. They're amassing their INSANE UMBRELLA VIRUS army. Soon the world will be full of people with questionable pathologies.

Partnership was a huge thing in RE5. But the worst way to show that is through putting emphasis on the word 'partner' itself. Quite shallow. I wasn't annoyed by the theme, but I was very annoyed by the damn word being parroted over and over. "Don't you trust your partner?" That was really annoying for sure. The word itself doesn't mean anything, and they used it as if it alone carried the whole emotionality RE5 was supposed to portray.

Couldn't have put it more eloquently myself. Nor did I two posts ago in this thread. That's what I'm trying to say.
