I think their origins have something to do with las plagas, the other creature was assimilated along with Salazar into that plaga queen/hatchery like thing. That's really the only thing I can go by.

I honestly have no clue... Except that Verdugo apparently means Twig, according to our good buddy Babel Fish.

... They are most certainly NOT like any twigs I've stumbled across. Most twigs don't try to kill you... <.<

You need to watch The Evil Dead, the scene in the woods was classic.

All I know when you call somebody in spanish "Verdugo", It means that you're calling that
somebody either smart or the "Clever One". It also means "Tyrant" & "Executioner" referring
and dating back to the great Roman Era.

Mmmh'm, if I remember correctly, it's a technique calling "abutting". Don't quote me on that though. Shortening two words to make them sound better. You're = You are. They're = They are. Shalln't = Shall not. I remember my English teacher used to get really pissy when we wrote things like "You're right hand comes off".

Verdugo was Salazar's right hand man, but I don't think it was ever explained in-game about how he was produced. The only thing I could theorize is that they put Las Plagas in a different type of creature and that was the result, considering they never got their hands on any other mutagenic substance (Progenitor, T Virus etc) other than Las Plagas.

Well what i always thought, was that verdugo along with the novistadors were naturally evolved plagas. They weren't really a person or anything at one time. I guess kinda like the del lago, they were an ancient species that were kept underground along with the parasites.

I thought Del Lago was just a salamander infected with the Las Plagas?

Anyway, I do agree with you however on thinking verdugo is just an evolved Plaga, that's what I think too, same for the Novistadors. I'm sure it must of took a loooooong time to get these plagas to evolve into such a thing as a verdugo however, makes sense why there was only two.

The thing is, Las Plagas is a parasite, right? Meaning it's adapted to live by living in a host, so it stands to reason that the Verdugo did start off as something, but whatever it was, I can't for the life of me tell... Which only really would put us back at square one. >.<

I assume SOME sort of insect, given how they look.

Oh, I'm sorry that's incorrect and how much did you wager? Everything.

Mr. Spencer is today's Jeopardy champion.
You all do realize he was mocking a typo in the game itself, right? When Leon says that, It does actually say "You're right hand comes off?" If anybody failed, it was you all.

Also, I always assumed Verdugo was some Insect/Human Hybrid that was mixed with the Plagas. I remember someone saying they thought Verdugo was a human embryo mixed with insect DNA which was then injected with the plagas and allowed to grow or something like that.

                            He was? *checks* Oh, ha.

I also agree that it is some form of adult/engineered Plaga. If those spider Plagas can exist outside the host after a certain point, then RE can use their "science" to turn them into Tyrant-Plagas.

I'm really not sure what Verdugo was but it was some kind of intelligent creature since it could follow orders. Salazar must had some kind of way of controlling Verdugo like Saddler had over the villagers.
