  • Survivor needs remade.

Into an old style RE game. Or given the Chronicles treatment. Honestly, this game is actually one of the best in the series, but it's hampered by shit production values. So much potential squandered on a rushed job. Terrible acting, terrible graphics and terrible hap-hazard gameplay.

I mean jesus christ, the story is great and gives off more of an "shit is EVIIL" feeling. You've got dozens of T-103 Tyrants out for your blood, not to mention the Umbrella Trashsweepers. Countless enemies from the old RE's return, including TWO fucking Alligators, TWO Black Tigers, T-103, Lickers, Super Lickers, Hunter Alphas, Cerberus, Giant Moth. This game would be an old-style RE fan's wet dream if they handled it properly.

Vincent Goldman is also one of the best villains (if not THE best) in the series due to having a clear, non-bullshit prospectus. He's in it for the money and the security he'll gain with Umbrella. And he doesn't care how he gets it.

The game also boasts one of the best Tyrants in the series, Hypnos. I would kill to see that thing in, hell, even Outbreak graphics.

I will be sorely disappointed if they don't include the Sheena Island incident in Darkside Chronicles. This game is the biggest "lost chapter" in the series.

Sheena Island is probably one of the most exciting places if we could ever visit again in this day and age of technology, and to see the tyrant mass production facility in its glory, with more files and other details to flesh out the story, would be exquisite. I agree sir.

I must agree with you News Bot, Survivor had so much potential.
It had a great and pretty disturbing backstory (teenagers from all over the world kidnapped and used as a material to produce Tyrants; town people treating them as some kind of lesser people; prisoners scheming to escape from the prison and eventually killed by Vincent himself), but the main story was so cliche ("I have an amnesia and I think I'm the bad guy") and stupid ("Hi. My name is... Vincent. I hope you haven't seen me before. So, can you tell me something about myself?") and additionally ruined by atrocious voice acting... I can't believe they could top RE1 in that segment, but they did.

I would really like to see RE Survivor in RE: DSC graphics with story and atmosphere make-over.

I loved this game. Twisted backstory for sure. I could have lived with it 'as is' except they took out the light gun support (would have been nice if they replaced it with your arm holding your gun) and it has no FMV other than ingame graphics. The ending was great though...wish it had a more open world and typerwriters

i think this game would benefit form a remake as well, it wasn't a bad story, it just was...suck.

I've played this game a lot. It's such a shame that it was so graphically poor. The story is pretty good, and there are a few things they could expand on (cleaners, Tyrant production, maybe Vincent, Ark-Leon relationship), but as a whole, the story is pretty much a case closed. IF a classic RE game was to be made, I'd rather have a new story, but I'd be all over a Survivor remake for that matter.

I recently replayed Survivor and loved it to death. I really have no huge problems with graphics since they are overrated in general imo. And the gameplay, while not bad in itself, since I got through the game fairly easily with no huge "omg controls/whatever else" problems, could have great potential if they ever remade it.

I've still never played Survivor...it's on my "To-Get Used at GameStop One Day" list.

Shame you Americans never got Guncon support.
It's extremely fun with that. <3

i agree as well, even though it was the shortest resident evil game, it definiatly had one of the scariest tyrant appearences.

That's why I imported the NTSC-J version. I feel the Guncon is essential.

I'd also agree that a remake is very much needed. Perhaps it will be in Dark Side Chronicles? After all it seems like a "Dark Side" story of the sorts..

Yea I was disappointed that the US version didn't have this. I got to play Dead Aim with the Guncon 2 and it was much better.

Survivor is one of those 'RE' games that I would never have in my collection. I pretend it never was. I was pretty disappointed when it came out. What I loved about Resident Evil then was the camera angles and the fact it felt more like an interactive movie than a lame video game. And survivor had none of that, so I felt like I was playing another lame video game. I didn't like the characters or the story either. I was too busy hating the gameplay and the graphics to care about what was happening. The voice acting and the cliches didn't help. Those guys with the guns were a head scratcher. Overall, I was ver unpleasantly surprised. Just my opinion, but I think Survivor should stay dead and buried. I threw the game away.
