It's not too bad. Once you get over certain problems, it's kind of fun actually. The files you find concerning Nicholai, etc. are pretty neat, and the story isn't too bad. The only problem I really had with the game was you could totally tell throughout the whole game that they were really trying to make the game's plot/characters seem badass...by going way over the top. For instance...Oh wait, I don't want to spoil a masterpiece for youSpoiler:
It's just the little things like those that bothered me a bit, but it's easy to get over. The tyrant is awesome and I think the main character is pretty cool, I'd actually prefer him over say, the present Leon just because he doesn't talk that much unlike some people Anywho, your best bet would be ebay, you can get survivor for like 15 bucks, including S&H.

Never liked Survivor, especially since there was a time when I got to the T-103 factory and the game just locked up. Haven't played it since. Honestly I like reading about it more, because the files have a wealth of interesting information. For instance, one of them reveals that lickers come from a zombie's exposure to the T-virus. As people have said before, the voice acting is laughable, even more so than RE1 (the Trashsweeper leader has some hilariously delivered lines).

The idea of a remake I welcome, as unlikely as it is. The wealth of BOWs is a good prospect for next-gen, especially hunters. People never seem to remake failures though.

I'd like to see a remake, if only because Goldman was such a malevolent antagonist. When people speak about true evil, they talk about Umbrella in general, but I think that Goldman was especially terrible. The man murdered children in cold blood, then covered everything up as a mass suicide. A complete monster if there ever was one.
          See you in hell.

Anyway, Survivor remains one of my favourite REs. I'd love to see it remade or even "ported" to another engine by a group of dedicated modders. Could even be for a recent game like Call Of Duty or whatever.

As for the alligators, I never saw them on my 10+ play throughs. Where are they?

in the hospital, take the sewer path, they're probably the toughest enemies, really not recommended on the first playthrough .

I don't remember fighting them after the hospital? I found them after the prison. So I guess there are two ways to fight them.

There are two ways to get through the prison. One is climbing down from the tower, the other is out through a sewer system. You want to exit via the sewer to find the gat0rz (duh). Don't go through the door straight ahead from where you find the rope, go through the cell area, and you'll eventually find a staircase. It's the only staircase in the entire prison, so you can't go wrong. Go down. Fight a few other nice RE2 creatures, and exit through one of the hatches along the floor.

I'm gonna have to try that. However, I honestly don't remember a staircase in my copy at all, and I've been through the prison quite a few times. Which room is it in?

Go through the door in the cell area (not the one close to where you find the rope, as I said, I think there's a door close to the cells), and I think you'll come out in a hallway with two other doors. In this hallway you can for example access the shower room. But, the moment you enter this hallway, look to your right. There are some stairs leading down there. It's not really a big staircase, just looks like a black hole.

But yeah, it's a bit hard to see, as it's to your immediate right after you enter the hallway, so you won't see it unless you turn right.

Pick up the rope anyway! You'll need it to climb down the hatch. Ark's no Leon!

"Ark Thompson huh? Well I don't know what is going on. But I do know this is no way for a man to die.".

"Vincent! Vincent! You ARE a murderer Vincent! A murderer!"

"Vincent! This is your mother speaking!"

                            Absolutely. Sublime.

This is my favourite exchange in the series. RE1 hasn't got SHIT on this.
