Hey guys. On YouTube, I have seen videos of people animating the character models from REmake. Where can I get these character models? I've been doing some searching, and I can't find a website that has them. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You'd have to rip them off the disc yourself. I know 3DSMAX can handle them once ripped.

Those vids are taken from here I guess

I have to admit, I laughed pretty damn hard watching these two videos:
Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

The way Leon just continues to lie on the floor cracks me up.
This guy's videos are really interesting.

However, if you legally own an official copy of REmake you could make an ISO of the game (which you could also use to play it on your computer with the Dolphin emulator) and if you got something to open up the ISO/Disc image, you'd find some archive files which can be extracted with Vampyre's tools from HERE off The Coroner section.
I can't remember which archive has the renders/models in them, but once you extract them from the archive, 3DSMAX should be able to open up the models so you can have a look at them, pose them/animate them (if extracted properly, you should be able to import the animation files/settings used in REmake and view the animations with their corresponding model).
Personally, I just love looking at the detail put into the models themselves.
((As for those last two videos, those are using mods for RE4 PC and appear to have been imported, animated and captured in 3DSMAX and the last one posted by Logical Operand appears to have been captured from REmake emulated, with a program that people have been using for a while... I can't remember if it was 3D or DXRipper or something else but the overall look makes me think of it)).Last edited by Enetirnel; 06-19-2009, 03:06 AM.

unfortunatly those tools won't work with remake, those only work with 4 only. the remake model ripper tools were released years ago and have since dissappered only a few people have these tools myself included, i have been looking for them on sites etc but turned up nothing.Last edited by DXP; 06-19-2009, 07:46 AM.

As really, as long as we can decompress the archives/open them and I remember that the models could be opened up in 3DSMAX, someone made an export for them too.
((In any case, I'll be having a look into this again as it's been quite some time since I've done anything like model ripping and porting and my memory is most likely wrong here)).Last edited by Enetirnel; 06-19-2009, 07:52 AM.

I'm just surprised that with all of the modding going on these days, and the fact that these videos on YouTube exist, that there isn't a website that has these models on them. You would think there would be a site where you can just download these models since they appear ripped from the games.

Originally posted by DXP View Postyou have too think of the dark red area though i.e illigel things because they are properties of capcom etc and not owning the real game and then uploading models for eveyone else too use that may not own a legit copy of the game is kinda illigel in general but i wouldn't know that side of things.

That's exactly the case, and it can bring around many issues. So even if they were up for personal use only on a website - it would be best to not download them unless you know from the uploader whether or not it's a ripped one of a fan-made one. Overall, I do know that someone was remaking all of the REmake models at some point so it would be worth having a look into some of the fan-made ones which can be just as good... or even better than the original models as it's much safer than breaking laws and setting yourself up for any copyright infringement cases.Last edited by DXP; 06-20-2009, 07:26 AM.
