Favourite soundtrack

There are a couple of *brilliant* tracks on most RE soundtracks, but most of others are unfortunately not listenable on a casual basis.

Outbreak (1) beats others in the ratio basis.

Exactly how I feel. Outbreak is my favourite, although they're all really great.
Can someone tell me which of the Outbreak tracks were stock music, and not composed for the game?

I haven't heard the tracks from Outbreak in a long time, but then again I just got a PS2! I'll see how I feel about them. The two I remember are the result screen tune and when Thanatos chases you.

This is quite a difficult question.. I voted Outbreak, because there are a lot of good tracks on the Outbreak soundtrack, but I also love the soundtracks of RE2, RE3 and Code Veronica. It was a hard decision to make

Yea, so I totally just accidentally made another poll exactly like this one. I'll just copy what I put there since it will probably be deleted by moderators!

I have to go with Resident Evil 2. There are so many parts of that soundtrack that are very iconic to me. I think some of the most haunting and creepy RE music came out of this game. "The First Floor" has got to be my hands down most favorite "scary area" music out of any RE game.

I think RE0 has a very underrated soundtrack, it was really good I loved the music in that game. I don't know why it has no votes.

I agree, RE0 has really good music. I just think its overshadowed by a lot of the other soundtracks. While its very good in its own right, its just not as iconic or nostalgia producing as the other ones. But somehow 4 has more votes that 0? What the heck? 4 has the most forgettable soundtrack out of any of them!

I would have to say Code Veronica, so many wonderful themes, mostly Alexias Theme and "Love"

But Resident Evil 5 is up there to, quite a hell of a lot of epic songs in that soundtrack, like "Sad But True", "Trust", "Wind Of Madness", "Pray", ect.

I voted RE2 (it has probably the most emphasis on scare factor of any of the soundtracks; "First Floor" FTW).

If multiple choice had been enabled, I would have added RE4 (very underrated and mostly horror/science fiction-oriented despite claims to the contrary) and RE0 (Mimicry Marcus theme is awesome) to my selection.

RE2 for me, but I LOVE the remake music, especially the save room theme...but 2 just had a huge impact on me. I also loved music from 3, and the opening song in outbreak is amazing.

Resident Evil 5 is right up there, though--along with Remake.

The lack of love for the original game's soundtrack here is criminal. You people need to grab a copy of Biohazard Remix and educate yourselves in how a Resident Evil soundtrack should sound. Amazing arrangements of iconic tracks. I love the way they try to tell the story of the game using the CD too, with voice clips and such. Hell, they even have a track of the player running from the mansion to the guardhouse, with all of the sound effects included.

Biohazard Outbreak Soundtrack is a very close second though. The entire CD is easily listenable compared to some of the other soundtracks where I find myself skipping a ton of tracks. Plus, it still has the best theme of the entire series, and I love how they use it throughout the soundtrack.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of Resident Evil music while I do schoolwork, as it's nice to have something instrumental on in the background. I've discovered so many great tracks from all the games; I'll list my favorites.

RE0: Decent game, better soundtrack. Aside from all the ambient-type tracks (which are great for background), my favorites are:

- Uneasiness (plays when you're scrambling to turn the train brakes on)
- Save Rebecca! (in the training facility)
- Outside the Chapel
- Laboratory 1 (in the lab library)
- Marcus's Memories (in Marcus's office in the lab)
- Proto-Tyrant 1
- Queen Leech (the one in triplet rhythm; in the incinerator)
- Battle the Leech (one of my favorites; during the final fight)
- On the Hunt (Leech Hunter)

Rebirth: Not a huge fan of most of this soundtrack, as it is a little too ambient for my general tastes. However, there's a few gems here:

- Save Theme
- Vacant Room (this one really creeps me out)
- Ivies' Domain (Residence theme)
- Cold Water (Aqua Ring theme)
- Deception (Wesker in the Residence)
- Tyrant 2 (on the helipad)
- Ending Credits

RE2: One of the best soundtracks by far. There's a lot to list, but favorites include:

- Annette's Recollection (it's awesome when the music picks up a bit)
- Raccoon City (street theme)
- Main Hall
- First Floor
- Second Floor
- Secure Place (save theme; probably the most "classic" tune I can think of)
- The Library (creepy)
- Malformation of G's (all of them; love the evil choir sounds)
- Ada's Theme (peaceful)
- Marshaling Yard (both of them, eerie yet tranquil)
- Prologue (of the "B" game; one of my favorites)
- Fearful Is No Word For It (HUNK goodness)
- Under Cover of Darkness (battle game)
- Long and Gloomy Underground Passage (battle game)

RE3: Better than Rebirth's soundtrack but not nearly as good as RE2's. There's a lot of tracks, and I only really remember a few:

- Free From Fear (save theme)
- The Clock Tower
- Missile Approaching
- Euthanasia of Raccoon City
- Staff & Credits (cheesy, but I love it)

CVX: My favorite soundtrack by far; so many good tracks:

- Prologue
- Death Siege
- The Palace of Insanity
- Through the Scope
- Piano Roll (I love this theme!)
- Greetings
- The Suspended Doll
- Pandora's Box
- A State of Emergency (escaping Rockfort)
- The Theme of Nosferatu

- Berceuse (Alexia singing; creepy!)
- Murderous Eyes (Wesker vs. Alexia; love the organ sounds)
- The Theme of Alexia (1 and 2)
- The Code is Veronica (probably my favorite RE track)

RE4: A lot of ambient stuff, but I liked it better than Rebirth's soundtrack.

- Serenity (plays whenever you're near certain typewriters; really tranquil)
- Echo in the Night (Pueblo at night; creepy)
- Bad Vibes (when Verdugo stalks you)
- Salazar
- Save Theme
- Infiltration
- Krauser
- Backup
- Mercenaries: Albert Wesker
- Intention (Separate Ways; one of my favorites)
- End and Aim (Separate Ways; reminds me of RE2 for some reason)

RE5: A little better than 4's soundtrack, but still a lot of "filler" tracks. I'm not quite sure why they went with the digital versions of the orchestrated tracks on the main discs; the symphonic tracks are so much cooler...

- An Emergency (first Uroboros fight)
- Evil Mutation (Irving battle)
- Gigantic Attack (U-8)
- Haze of Horror (the reapers, one of the two creepy parts of RE5)
- Two on Two (Wesker & Jill battle)
- Sad But True (Jill battle)
- Majini IX In Flames (one of my favorites; reminds me somewhat of "The Code is Veronica;" same vibe)
- Wind of Madness (Wesker hangar battle; I love how epic and symphonic this is!)
- Deep Ambition (final Wesker battle; a bit cheesy and overdone, but still great)
- Assault Fire (Mercenaries theme)

Umbrella Chronicles: I liked a lot of the redone themes, but there's some nice original ones, too:

- Begin Here (menu music; I love this!)
- White Out (remix of the queen leech battle, but more epic)
- Outbreak (remix of first queen leech battle; I like the change in feel with the kick drum)
- Live Evil (one of my top RE favorites; love the rock instruments)
- You Only Live Twice (when Wesker infiltrates Sergei's facility)

Outbreak: I don't remember a lot of these, but I'll list the ones I thought I liked...

- Outbreak Main Theme (love the piano)
- Distant Future
- One Big Mutha (G battle in Below Freezing Point)
- The Unpleasant Train
- Of Wisdoms, Truths, and Tyrants
- Third Time's the Charm (this is epic)

Outbreak File #2: Better than File #1, if I recall.

- Undead Siege (Desperate Times; the 7/8 time gives it a tense vibe)
- Through the Forest (Flashback; this is creepy)
- Vines and Bricks Falling Apart (Flashback)
- Elimination (I love this one)
- Nyx (epic and tense)
- File #2 Credits (just amazing)

I haven't heard the music from the original in a long time (the only version I have is the DS one). I'll have to check it out, but I don't recall it being anything special. It certainly couldn't hold a candle to RE2's soundtrack.
