I believe Hunk is just Mr Lucky. Things just play out for him. What if simpily the outbreak
occurred, Umbrella sent in the USS to claim the G-virus because of the mass outbreak,
rather than at the beginning/causing the mass outbreak. Whilst the RPD was outside
fighting the horde, Hunk's team could have snuck in and tried to acquire birkin/G
samples as Rodriguez did in End of the road. Or simply, Beta team got their asses
handed to them by Birkin so they sent Alpha team in.

Speaking of RE3, I love how when Jill finds Marvin she automatically assumes he's dead. All of her experience and she couldn't at least check his pulse or something lol.

Would you want to touch something that could possibly be a zombie?
          Mass production? Ridiculous!

If I found a friend or family member unconscious, yea I would check to see if they were alive instead of saying, hmmm...screm em, looks dead to me lol. Besides, it wouldn't be the first time she's touched a dead person who "might" be a zombie.

Actually, the text said he was "fatally wounded" - not dead yet, but hurt far worse than Jill's skills could do anything about. She seems to be somewhat decently skilled at Emergency Medicine if she knows how to properly give an injection (Richard and the Serum). That's not something they teach in a simple First Responder's course. Jill sure seems awfully well educated, eh?

_How much belief are you willing to suspend (he took out how many Mr. X'es)?
_Do you believe in the event itself happening in a general sense, or the on-screen content being an exact depiction? If so, which on-screen content?
_Which semi-conflicting facts do you accept as being right? This shapes the followig theory you might come up with.
I mean, really, HUNK('s model) can't use any of the two-slot weapons, but everyone on the USS team was shown with MP5A3's (or full-auto converted HK-94's with shortened barrels, I couldn't see any barrel lugs) so.. it's really all a matter of what facts you choose to accept, and in what order. I'm merely offering my 2¢ on the matter.
                Nice theory, I liked it!

I believe that the 4th Survivor was somewhat canon based on the exact in-game events, minus a few things.
                - I don't think HUNK took out any Tyrants. Umbrella only dropped one into the RPD, right? And that was the one that Leon/Claire killed. The Tyrants encountered in the 4th Survivor (I believe there were four of them) would have made no sense. Unless, of course, Umbrella dropped off all of the pods from that chopper.
                - Based on the rapid rate of Birkin's mutation, the scenario must have occurred during Leon and Claire's events around the time they exited the RPD. This means that the ladder in the main hall would have been lowered, and HUNK would not have had to take the "long way." This actually makes the scenario in Umbrella Chronicles much more likely.
                Mass production? Ridiculous!

Like I said, there are facts, not all of them mach. It's "pretty certain" that he did get the G-Virus, even though it wasn't a major plot point later on. But, then again, it could be argued that the events never happened as we saw them - perhaps he merely escaped without the sample, a different way? Maybe Rodriguez picked him up? Maybe he was never in Raccoon City at all? There are so many questionable possibilities, and because the were never directly addressed in the main story of any of the mainstream games (wasn't RE4 originally supposed to be called Umbrella Rising? And star Nikolai, HUNK and Wesker?), we may never know "for certain." So.. we get the fun of theorizing!

Regarding Birkin's rate of mutation.. there's another thing we don't know for certain. How long, and under what conditions, each stage of mutation actually lasts. It could be he underwent several stages of mutaiton "off screen" that we never "saw."

By the way, Beauregard - Go Cubs!

Interesting. I never knew that RE4 was supposed to feature those characters in major roles. I vaguely remember the story behind RE 3.5, but nothing popped out about any of those characters. Does anyone even know if Nicholai is canonically alive?

The G-Birkin's mutation rate must be somewhat quick, as Leon and Claire battled five completely different-looking forms of him in the short time (12 hours, perhaps?) that they were in Raccoon City. I believe that in a file, it said the virus causes "sudden, quick, and violent mutations" in subjects, but I guess it is possible that we missed several weaker transitional stages of Birkin (or that the forms we fought were transitional stages).

Go Cubs indeed! Too bad they won't make the playoffs this season, though. 101 years and waiting...

Well there was a report from Nicholai in RE survivor, which was confirmed canon in RE 0, which I believe was dated after Raccoon's destruction. Other than that, there was a report from him in UC as well where he went by his code name Silver Fox, but I can't remember what it was dated, if at all.

Watching that oh so lonely zombie in that apartment building in RE3...

Not exactly ridiculous, but a pretty funny and silly Easter Egg.

Most ridiculous moment in Resident Evil:

-Capcom releases Biohazard 5 demo on the JP Xbox Live service.
-Capcom then prohibits people outside of Japan downloading the demo.
-Capcom then prohibits people outside Japan playing the demo online.
-Capcom then spitefully corrupts the demo of anyone outside Japan who attempts playing online.

                            It boggles my fucking mind...

Most likely. Looks like his wife got killed or something.

Or maybe he ate her from his sheer amount of hunger and is now mourning for her...
