What you said only works if they are dropped from the same height. And both the objects you mentioned are spheres.

Have you ever dropped something and then caught it? Its very possible.

Dumbass. Those Plagas folks sure were great at writing their plans down and leaving them for Leon to find, only to reveal more of their secrets.
I know, funny stuff. My favorite is the note that was carelessly left sitting in that shed near the cabin, mentioning something to the effect of "there are two routes; in one there will be a bunch of ganados and in the other will be El Gigante." They should have added "and the American agent will never know what awaits him, because we'll hide this note so well that he won't find it!"

Another one of my favorites is the clock tower one. "We'll jam the gears in three places; that'll slow him down!" He'll never figure it out!

This has been a problem with pretty much every RE game. Apparently Capcom doesn't think that exploring bathrooms is any fun! The RPD is another great example - not one bathroom in the entire building! It's such a shame, because I've always thought that bathrooms would fit great on either side of the ladder in the main hall. They would need to be small, of course, as they might interfere with the parking garage ramp underneath. I wonder if there'd be enough room for proper plumbing, though...

I've always been under the impression that no one actually lived in the Spencer mansion; that it was built to disguise the labs below. If that's the case, bathrooms and living quarters become irrelevant. I'll never understand the kitchen, though...

We don't know that those were the only entrances, or that Chris and Jill even explored the entire laboratory. For example, what if the elevator that connected to the specimen room (where the Tyrant "killed" Wesker) also went upward to another entrance/exit, or further down past the specimen room to even more levels of the lab? Perhaps those levels contained living quarters and bathrooms for the research staff that didn't live in the guardhouse...

I'll agree that the fountain entrance really makes no sense, though. It would have been fine if it were located far away from the heliport, but anyone investigating the facility would easily spot the heliport during a flyover. It would have made more sense if the heliport elevator was disguised, as well. That way, the heliport could have been for the mansion if anyone asked.

We also don't know that the only way into the heliport was through the big door near the fountain. Weren't there crates and forklifts and stuff blocking much of the interior heliport walls? It's easily possible that they could have been concealing a door.

Now that's definitely a plot hole.

I'm sure people wanted to believe them, but couldn't due to the fact that 33% of the city was employed by Umbrella. Those employed by the company would be risking their jobs, and those who weren't probably couldn't believe that a pharmaceutical company could be behind something so heinous. Oh well, they found out the hard way in the end!

You're right; another plot hole. I'm very surprised the virus didn't spread to any nearby towns. My guess, though, is that the majority of the infected creatures were killed when Raccoon City went up in flames.

The S.D. Perry books, although non-canon, say that the mansion's traps were born from the fact that Spencer and company never "grew up," and that they were obsessed with spy-type stuff and hidden passages and whatnot. I think this is a reasonable explanation, although it only explains the traps in the mansion.

The RPD's puzzles could have been explained by Chief Irons and his obsession with not letting anyone escape the building. I remember the secretary's note where Irons berated the secretary for bumping into "that statue." I assume it was a reference to the statue that held the red gem.

Puzzles in places like J's Bar and the Apple Inn can always be explained by the oddities of their owners, much like Spencer. It's hard to logically explain the puzzles in the city's exterior, though, unless Mayor Warren was just as odd as the others...

Yes, but to be able to drop a gun, fall, catch the gun by the grip, and accurately fire off a few rounds before hitting the ground is just ludicrous.
      Mass production? Ridiculous!

        • Comparing her to the gun, if you were to speed up the clip to the normal speed that the handgun would be falling at she's moving much faster than she would be able to. Even assuming that she starts moving as soon as the camera cuts to a rear view, she still doesn't go for it until it's past her waist.

And then you could cast doubt on the fact that not one of the hundreds of soldiers even tried to take a shot when she made that sudden movement, but then Umbrella's military has never been the sharpest.

My bad, I hadn't seen the video in a while and was just going off of memory.

But like LeonsBuddyDave said, the scene still has its fair share of problems.

The birds that get infected act like a hive and usually stay in one location. The rats wouldn't stray far from the town along with most animals. Degeneration shows us that the quarantine zone stretched many miles away from the city.

Its easy to believe that it was contained.

              • ^ This just reminded me of a another ridiculous moment in RE. In the second issue of the old wildstorm comics, there's a story about the Raccoon zoo. All the animals get infected by Birkin blah blah, I'm sure most of you have read it. Anyways, for those who have not> Spoiler:

                • ^Damn, I forgot how stupid those comics were. Honestly, the story with a zombie bat-people, Jill disguised as a school girl, nerd kid that somehow cracked the g-virus formula. Speaking about the comic-books, was the new RE comic book series deleted?

                    • Last time I did a search on it, there was a post on the Wildstorm message board saying they were pushing it back until November. Now whether they did it because of DSC or just because they wanted to is anyone's guess.

The merchants are different people (some of their eyes glow red while others are blue). Also, some people believe they are not canon characters, but simple game mechanisms so Leon can get weapons.
