Just to get back on topic, does anyone have any theories about Manuella and T-Veronica? If she has indeed been infected, then how did Javier manipulate the virus so her body can cope with it? Obviously she hasn't been in cryo-sleep for 15 years.

Whatever he did to it is also apparently the reason Krauser can transform his arm like that.

        Interesting.

So, it's possible Krauser's bladed arm isn't a product of Las Plagas?

That seems to be the case. In one of the trailers, for a brief second you can catch a glimpse of his left arm bandaged and bloody.

I see. I actually think it would make sense for Krauser to not have one.

Krauser's mutation does have a resemblance to the Plagas, but you have Ada's Report on "that arm of his", as if she saw it already--and the fact that the Plagas explodes and then somehow "regenerates", allowing him to survive and fight Ada later. Luis's report clearly indicates when the Plagas dies the host goes along with it. And then there's Saddler deciding how he was "going to get rid of him", which makes no sense.

It's also possible they originally intended for him to have the Plagas, but eventually had to retcon it for Darkside.

I don't think it was originally intended for him to have Plagas (at least not in the GC version). It was Separate Ways, IMO, that got people on the track to thinking he had Plagas.

Regardless, it'll be interesting to see the concept behind this new iteration of Veronica.

If it was the T-Veronica that's in her, maybe it's from STEVE!? (Wesker was supposedly involved with Javier, forgot source). If the virus was from Steve, it should've been from ALEXIA!!! If the virus was from Alexia, wouldn't have the virus be different? As it changed when in her for 15 years?

                Wishful thinking.

My guess with Krauser is that his arm gets badly injured and then uses one of the viruses that Javier has to heal himself.

If this game proves once and for all Krauser didn't have Las Plagas, it's automatically getting a 10 out of 10. I've been having that argument for almost five years and thaving it settled would be awesome beyond belief.

I think it's just an inconsistancy.

Nope he still has a modified-modified subordinate Plaga.

If you watch Ada's Report though, it kind of gives the impression that she recorded it before the events took place as she is talking about what may happen during the events of the game. Prior to RE4, Krauser, Ada and Wesker were all familiar with each other due to their ties with The Organisation.

"Jack Krauser has been the subject of extensive study by The Organisation. His skills and personality have been tested on the battlefield. If he weren't the best, he would become a liability that would jeapardise the rest of us. My conclusion? He's a great soldier, no more, no less. As long as he is well compensated, he shouldn't cause any problems for us. If he does start to get restless, I can take care of him. I've studied his combat style and can deal with that arm of his if necessary.

Darkside Chronicles tells us that Krauser feared his career was over after sustaining the injury and despite his facination with the virus and what Manuella could do, he wanted to seek out Wesker to see if he could fix his arm first and foremost so he could continue doing what he has always done, being a soldier of the battlefield. Whatever Wesker did, {PGW-67 anyone?} obviously worked and this is perhaps a large part of the reason why Krauser seems to worship the ground Wesker walks on in RE5.

No doubt Krauser has already fallen to the temptation of Las Plagas and the power they represent. This could have dire consequences for The Organisation. On some level however, this may be a necessary development, as his role is to disrupt this farce of a play.

This excerpt to me says that Ada is not 100% absolutely certain that Krauser has been infected with Plagas, despite her saying earlier that she had studied his combat style and his 'arm' extensively - which indicates that Krauser has something else in his arm.

I'm not saying its not a plaga, but Darkside Chronicles has for me at least, thrown some doubt on the issue.

The thing most people misunderstand is Ada's line about studying his combat style and being able to take care of his arm. She is referring to his general combat style only, she hasn't seen his arm before. She only knows that it has been modified with a Plaga because Krauser fell to his thirst for power, which Las Plagas represented.

Hopefully the Biohazard 4 Kaitaishinsho guide will yield some answers. Krauser's biography DOES have a small section dedicated to his arm.

She assumes he fell for his thirst for power. There's nothing to suggest she hasn't seen his arm before if say it was Wesker who did something to him. They could have been working together at The Organisation for at least a year prior to RE4.

Plus if Krauser did indeed have a modified control plaga, then why doesn't he just go straight back to Wesker if he is carrying in his body what Wesker and The Organisation are seeking in the first place?

He couldn't have been implanted with a subordinate plaga as he wouldn't be in control of his own actions, let alone control his own mutation. Saddler always had a mis-trust of him so if anything he would want Krauser to have a sub-ordinate plaga, so he could keep him in check.

'Modified-modified' subordinate plaga just seems to be clutching at straws a little for me, sorry.

Probably when she meant "No doubt Krauser has already fallen to the temptation of Las
Plagas and the power they represent."...she probably actually meant that Krauser my fall
for it just like he fell in love with Manuela's power over T-Veronica and switch to Sadler's
side in order to obtain that power, just like he did with Wesker to obtain the power he
possesses in RE4...which in turn could jeopardize the whole operation and the org.'s
                                secrets.
