Resident Evil 5 PC Loading Problem

Hey guys, got the game throught the post today, I've installed it, but keep coming up with the same problem every time I get to the run directx 9 screen, I press on that then a couple of seconds later I get a warning box saying;

RE5DX9.exe - unable to locate component

This application has failed to start because xlive.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

No it did not!!!

Anybody have this same problem and know how to fix it?

XLIVE.DLL? Let me guess; It's part of the Windows LIVE Games for Windows system?

If so, I guess you'll just have to follow its desires and install it
(And not disable it... That's the only "normal" way I'd see it not working as intended... of course... there might be some random digital force at work. That happens :/)

Make sure you install the latest GFWL client and the Microsoft's NET Framework 3.5 stuff, that should fix it.

Also, if you're plannin' on usin' the DX9 version, be ready to face a certain bug in the game's shader files that causes the game to have really long loading times. The only way to fix it is by going to \CAPCOM\RESIDENT EVIL 5\nativePC and opening the shaderlog file with word pad and deleting everything in it (it causes no problems whatsoever with the game), but make a backup for it just in case.

Thanx guys, done that and it has worked, all except the shader thing that is, I'll have a go at that later.

Another thing I'm having problems with is my X-Box 360 controller, I can't get it installed on to the PC right, it says it's installed, but while in Resi 5 it just does not recognise it! I also have a SmartJoy adaptre for my old PS2 controller that the game does recognise, but has troubles with the right thumb stick, so I'd like to get the 360 controller working as it's supposed to!!!

Any ideas?
