So, I noticed nobody has made a topic for this.

Any thoughts? Theories? Rants? Posts of pure awesome (that's relevant) !?

Well I'm really excited about having two games (three counting a possible RE:portable release) releasing within the next year, when here I thought just before RE5 came out that it would be the last RE game for awhile. Silly me, Capcom loves us!..and our money.

All the REDHFB (Resident Evil Die Hard Fan Boys) will probably go through the same process with this game that they do every other RE game.

      1. Get excited when it is announced

      2. Speculate what will be in it.

      3. Make lists of things you hope to be in it. Example : Oh boy I really hope they include Barry in the game...I mean he was in STARS too and what about Rebecca...oh oh I hope they bring Alexia back oh and HUNK is awesome, best character ever! Leon should be in it too! They should just wrap up every RE plot element in this one game!

      4. Get the game, play it. Love it for a week

      5. Complain about it. Example: No fair, all the things they promised us were not in it! (This is false, everything they promised = things you wished for but were never in fact stated by Capcom)

      6. Bash the game nonstop, lamenting how bad it is and how Capcom doesn't care about its fans. Then go on to say nonsense like RE: Outbreak was a good game and that it is missed.

      7. Anticipate the next RE game...process circles back to #1.

...Outbreak is a good game and I do miss it. Now, if someone says that about Gaiden...

That little cycle may be true-ish these days, but I do remember when games like RE3 and CODE: Veronica hit and it was allllll good. Yes, I have been kicking around for that long. Yes, you should be afraid. In the good old days we didn't complain as much, because, well....there wasn't as much to complain about maybe? I dunno. I think it might have been because we knew what to expect and we got exactly that...zombies, tank controls, a few good scares, puzzles and exploring and, of course, some cheesy plot elements.

Of course, I should point I had a lot of doubts before RE5 this time, and about the kindest thing I've said is the story is better than RE4's which, I know, a lot of folk disagree with. So I never go into that cycle anyway.

For this? I'm waiting and watching. So far it looks fine. But the initial trailers to RE5 did too. I'm currently expecting very little. Of course, I sorta hope this will suck...I do not want to buy another version of the damned game for a little extra content and chance to wave a Wii remote around.

Well, I just saw the trailer for RE5 AE on the official site...

I LOVE the idea of being able to experience this story (I think. We will see how good or bad it is executed.).
I love being able to play in a team consisting of Chris Muscleheadfield and Jill Sexytine.
And again there is a mansion with this beautiful architecture.

Oh, and the official site even plays the moonlight sonata.

What I don't like is the thought that I first have to sell my RE5 and then have to buy RE5 AE for the full price again.
I would prefer to buy it as an addon for less money.

I think it will be out as an 'addon only' and not just as a full RE5 + addon, at least that's how i've thought it. At least for xbox 360 it'll be something like that i guess..

If it really turns out to be this way it would be great.

But even though back then it was all good, people are complaining about RE3 and CV right now .

I've heard people bitch about the back tracking in CV, and that the backgrounds haven't aged with (both valid points) but I don't think anyone has bitched about RE3. Bar Jill's choice in clothing anyway.

The AE is the name of the PS3 version with motion controls supported. The new content itself is being prepared for 360 too. I could care less for the controls

You know for a moment there, when i was checking Resident Evil 5 after awhile, i saw Alternate Edition, but actually when i first saw that title and even in its apreviated title 'AE' i almost got so excited because i thought it meant or saw 'Alternate Ending' but turns out i was wrong after 5 seconds

although, as silly as this may sound, i hope this is an alternate way of what Resident Evil 5 is, of course keeping to the story, but probably not having Wesker die in the first place. I think this is Capcom's way of trying to bring back a character from the dead after learning their mistake.

I am curious as to why it's called Alternative edition. Being able to see what happened before the game isn't especially alternative.

Bad japanese translation? But according to Famitsu it's only a working title for now.

maybe there will be more scenarios than we know right now, something like Jill and Josh separate ways or maybe some new chapters in the main game between 2-3 /on boat/ 3-1 and 5-3 /in harbour/ 6-1
