RE 1.5 is the true canon version of the RE storyline. All other storylines are hallucinations produced by excess death.

It would be just like Capcom to not let us know the true storyline!
      Mass production? Ridiculous!

The Merchant is an immortal, and has the ability to teleport. I've hit him with nearly every piece of weapon I had--including turning him to charcoal with a incendiary grenade, and he somehow beats me to the next location that needed to be accessed with an eyeball or a key, no less. I think its clear his sneaky ass was handing off heavy artillery to some of those guys who were later obtaining light sabers, chain-guns, and blades. Leon & Ada are strangers, after all; he has no reason to only give them weapons, especially when gold makes the world go around.

I'm not even so sure Saddler's island was blown up. In Ada's ending, she never triggers the bomb.

He is a story mechanism. It's like when you're playing as Claire in RE2 and Chief Irons is revealed to be a rapist and a necrophile, but you can't shoot him dead for w/e reason.

Well the Saddler Island Merchants are dead but the El Pueto Merchants should still be knocking around. I know the Merchant is just a game mechanism, was a shame he didn't return in 5.

As for Tofu, he's dead. Eaten by Mr Death himself. So either way, if he was "cannon", it doesn't matter.

Just another thing the addition of co-op ruined in RE5.

He's only immortal in normal mode.

Ha It's funny you say that, I just finished a comic depicting that exact scenario

Tofu and the Merchant are non-characters.

I don't know why everyone likes the merchant, he was just as annoying as the Leon was. I actually liked RE 5 way of buying and upgrading weapons.

I preferred the Merchant because he made more sense. HOW are Chris and Sheva upgrading their weapons between chapters, exactly?!

^ The upgrading system never made sense in either game. Why the hell should I ever have to pay some ridiculous amount of money to make myself reload faster, or have a 100-bullet handgun clip?
