  • Krauser vs. Wesker - Boss Fights

Wesker might look like a cool Matrix reject and have the whole pseudo-philosophy speeches going on in his boss fights but Krauser's is just so much mor eepic IMO.

EDIT: ok... i get you can kill him easier with the knife.. jeeze now shut up..the first part in fighting Jack Krauser, The hardest boss in the game in my opi...

Yes I know he's easy with a knife but then the challenge is not to use the knife in that fight.

No, he's just easy overall. Not really epic in my opinion.

Difficulty is subjective. I can name dozens of people who found him quite challenging.
But you're right, it's all opinion. I found the fight quite epic. The setting, his dialogue, the dual-stages of the battle and his final mutation with the arm and his music...it's all just perfect.

Krauser was pretty epic for me, with his war paint and all. I loved all the comrade talk. I think I loved Krauser so much because it was a nice break from the whole cult enviroment. Also, the RE2-ish music was awesome. Now if Krauser fought Wesker...that would be interesting. Of course Wesker would probably win, just because he's Neo, thus, he is the one.

I think the boss fight for Krauser was pretty great. First playthrough of RE4, I had a blast, even though it was horrendously difficult at the time, not knowing the knife tactic. Great fun all around.

However, Wesker was more "epic" for me, simply because I was emotionally invested in the character. We waited for his boss fight for years, and finally being able to take him on was exhilarating. There are no words for what I felt during the first Jill & Wesker fight and certainly none for the second two fights with him. I think they were really well done, even if the volcano setting was a little silly.

Agreed, it did feel awesome fighting Wesker, knowing this was the end of the feud. The music, taunting, rants, matrix moves and button sequences were all done very well indeed.

Loved fighting Wesker even though the AI didn't help the situation. Krauser was the first time that we fought someone that was mostly human but liked how it played out.

I completely agree (minus the volcano battle with Wesker mutating). I liked the "two-on-two" battle (at least on the Wesker side of things; I'll never like how Jill was a "bad guy"), but I loved the hangar battle against Wesker. It's just such an epic fight! The location, the music, the random babble Wesker spouts... and it is all made more important by the fact that this is the man with the grand master plan, the one who has been working in the shadows for decades and undermining almost every main character's efforts.

I was never crazy about Krauser's character, but I did enjoy the battles against him (although I do think parts of the knife scene should have been able to be skipped, like the plane battle scene against Wesker in RE5). When Krauser popped up like 65% into RE4, no one knew who he was - he was a new character. Thus, when compared to Wesker, it's hard to really care about his character. With Krauser having such a large role in the upcoming Darkside Chronicles, I expect that most people will find the Krauser fights in RE4 to hold much more significant meaning.
                  Mass production? Ridiculous!

That's one of my biggest complaints about RE5 - the AI (aka Sheva). Not only was the AI terrible, but from a storyline perspective, this was Chris's fight. Even if Sheva did have a reason for wanting to kill Wesker (the death of most of the African branch's BSAA members), it doesn't change the fact that she was a new character added for this game, and thus the majority of the die-hard fans felt no connection to her. The Wesker/remaining members of S.T.A.R.S. rivalry went back for 11 years, and thus I believe that Jill, not Sheva, should have directly aided Chris in Wesker's destruction. I also think the game would have had a better ending if Sheva had died, and if Wesker's death had been questionable.

Could not have said it better myself. Although personally, I wanted Chris and Wesker to die (possibly in a self-sacrifice by Chris). With one half of the original storyline laid to rest, continue on with Ada, (I suppose Leon too) etc. and finish the other half (Sherry's whereabouts). Than, since we all know they will do it eventually...they could slowly introduce new characters/plot.

I wouldn't have minded if Chris died. Wesker and Jill are the "faces" of the Resident Evil franchise to me. To be honest, though, I've been hoping for Ada's death for quite some time now - preferably by Leon, just to make the storyline a little darker.

I would probably have to say Krauser's battle was the more epic one--even though the battle with Wesker (Even the QTE battle) was awesome as well. I couldn't wait to finally take on Wesker in an actual game--and when he uttered his "Seven minutes" battle speech, I was overly excited and had to pause the game quickly to chill out for a bit. Man, Krauser must've slaughtered me like 40+ times during my first playthrough, since he speed-blitzed me and slashed my ass with ease. Those arrows are also a bitch to dodge since he uses an infa-red on his crossbow to pin you down.

He's even harder in Assignment Ada. She doesn't have a knife or anything, so its much easier to get the deep end of the arm there. There's also not much your weapons can do, mainly because he's already dodging when you're aiming.

Wesker wiped me out a ton, too. I lost count of the amount of times he blew my ass away with that cinematic missile launch he does. I had no way of dodging it. I also tried to fight him directly in the first battle with Jill, and that didn't go too well. He either beat me to oblivion, or blasted me with his Samurai's Edge, with my dodging (Pressing X to dodge) proving to be far too slow against him.

Overall, I would consider them equal in terms of being epic; but Krauser's battle was totally new in terms of going at a normal guy, with access to normal weapons such as yourself in a Resident Evil game. Wesker's was after, but this is in no way me degrading the battle.

Yea both fights were pretty epic, kinda hard to rate one over the other for me. I said earlier that Krauser's battle was more epic in my opinion, but it's more of a tie because their so close. Also, I never got killed by a thrown missile, lucky I guess. He has however, shot me to death many a time lol.
