  • RE3 Dario Rosso and his "Just get away from me"

I'm not sure about the purpose of this topic, but... Someone here have any clue about why Dario Rosso's last words are different between NTSC-U version and NTSC-J/PAL?

    NTSC-J/PAL:
"I told you! I'm not leaving! Never!"

    NTSC-U:
"I told you! I'm not leaving! Never! Just get away from me..."

I just noticed this on my copies as well. How odd... maybe and editing error?

The PC version (I think both the American and European) is like this: "I told you! I'm not leaving! Never!"

Same with the Gamecube versions as far as I remember.

My version also said, "I told you! I'm not leaving! Never! Just get away from me..."

But you would have to prompt him a second time I believe for him to say "Just get away from me"

I would have to play it again to remember correctly lol.

No, you can hear that the first time you check the truck in which he is hidding. But you're right, it doesn't appear in any of the PC version releases (I'm not sure about the American Gamecube release, I guess it isn't there either)

The first time I notice this was a lot of years ago, I played the PS1 NTSC-U version and when I changed to my PAL copy I thought: hey! here is someting missing!... but I had no longer the NTSC copy to compare them. And yesterday I received an imported copy of RE3 just for collection pursposes and... there is that missing line! I knew I was no crazy!

Yeah, that line is missing from the gamecube edition.
              "I've got 100 cows."
              "Well I've got 104 friends."

I was definitely thrown off balance when I first heard that on the Gamecube edition– I always had a modded PS1 and a bootleg NTSC-J Last Escape copy. Huh, so it wasn't just me.

On another note, is it true that Rosso is a mistranslation of Russo? If not, I think the name's an amalgamation of the director Dario Argento and his film Profondo Rosso.

My grandpa's name is Dario Rosso, no joke. It was a name his family took after they cam over from Italy in the early 1910's.

I always took it this way. It has to be a reference to Argento's Deep Red.

Yeah, I play the GC version more often now and it doesn't have the "Just get away from me" line. My original, PAL PS1 RE3 does though, but I believe you have to check the truck a second time to get the "Just get away from me".

I know in the US original on the PSone, it was said complete, you didn't need to check it again.

It's an odd moment, I can't understand that revision of all things.

Reminds me of Chief's "I want to be alone right now".
