Got my copy in the mail today (but without the shirt, argh), and I played until the battery died on my Wiimote, which I am recharging as I type this. So far, it's a marked improvement from Umbrella Chronicles, but that isn't saying a whole lot. I'm towards the end of the RE2 scenario.

But could you tell a few things... Like how well you think they captured the atmosphere of RE2? Any scary or tense moments (on a rail-shooter scale) yet? How much was cut?

NEW REVIEW
This time from Eurogamer. They give it 8/10. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/re...-review?page=1
- Boss battles are a delight
- Game is only 5-6 hrs long(!)
- Stable framerate with rare drops
- Great CG especially CV scenario
EDIT - Another review G4TV - 4/5 http://g4tv.com/games/wii/57307/resi...nicles/review/
-RE faithful will love the story and collectibles
- Dynamic difficulty accommodates gamers of all skill levels
- Inventory management takes co-op to another level
- Outstanding visual and audio presentation
- Newbies might not appreciate story details(great!)
- Lacks the depth of other RE titles
- Might give you motion sickness
- the best game of its kind ever made(wow really?...)
"The first time you see a Licker in the Raccoon City Police Department, it's exactly as terrifying as the first time you saw it nearly 12 years ago in RE2".Last edited by BahamutRetsu; 11-16-2009, 09:32 PM.

I just beat the game, and I have really mixed feelings about it. I think for the most part, fans will be generally pleased with the RE2 scenario, but fans of CVX are going to be pissed.
Spoilers regarding the game overall follow.
Spoiler:
First of all, this game doesn't answer a single freaking thing. Now, I should note that I'm not even close to having unlocked all of the Archives items and files, but the game itself, as in what you see while playing it during cutscenes and gameplay, does absolutely nothing to resolve any of the remaining questions and plotholes from the series. So far, none of the files I have unlocked do either.
We don't even get to see Krauser fake his death or join Wesker and The Organization. No mention of The Organization is made whatsoever during the entire game. Wesker has like 2 lines in the CV scenario, and only appears during the ending, and we already saw it in the trailers. There's no Wesker vs. Alexia fight and no Chris vs. Wesker fight.
Also, unless I need to do something extra to unlock them, there are no sub-scenarios in the game. The RE2, CV, and Operation: Javier scenarios are all we get. One odd thing regarding Operation: Javier is that I apparently missed several cutscenes somehow. As you play through the scenarios, you automatically unlock the cutscenes in the Archives section once you've seen them in the game, but there are several empty slots remaining from the Javier section that are sandwiched between other cutscenes.
I don't know if I need to play through the scenario again as Krauser to view them, or if I have to play through the scenario on hard, or what. Speaking of Krauser, we receive no indication whatsoever that he's actually infected with the T-Veronica Virus, aside from the fact that his arm is impaled by one of the spikes fired by a boss. I guess we're just supposed to assume that he was? Hopefully one of the files will explain. We also never get any indication of why he would want to fake his death and join Wesker, at least not in-game.
As you may have noticed, I'm really counting on the files I missed to help fill in the gaps. As it stands now though, this game is one giant missed opportunity.

Yes, Chris is playable, but only for the last chapter of the CV scenario.
As for the Ashfords, there isn't a whole lot different from the original game. Well, nothing I would really consider significant, anyway. Alexia has much less screentime, however, and as I mentioned in my previous post, she never fights Wesker. She doesn't even meet him, actually. As many surmised from the trailers, she transforms right there on the platform with the Linear Launcher, and Chris and Claire fight her together.
Also as many theorized from the trailers, Alfred does indeed wake Alexia by pushing the ant button on the snow globe. He doesn't die at her feet. In fact, Alexia kills him herself with those giant tentacles. We find out that Alexander Ashford created the Linear Launcher out of fear of Alexia losing control and becoming nigh unstoppable as a result of her experiments on herself with the T-Veronica Virus.
The files I've unlocked so far from the CV scenario are taken directly from the original game, so there really isn't much new I can glean from those yet. I hope this answers your question.
