  • No Darkside strategy guide?

Anyone know of any guides for Darkside Chronicles in the pipeline? Can't find anything on Prima, Bradygames or Futurepress. Just seems a little odd seeing as though the game is only a few weeks away from release.

You can always wait for the eventual IGN/Gamespot guides, which can be quite decent.

Yeah, its just for collection's sake really. Perhaps its just been decided that with it being 'on the rails' there isn't really a need for one.

Umbrella Chronicles had one, so I can't imagine why Darkside wouldn't. The nice thing about the UC one was that it reproduced all the unlockable files in the game.

I wonder if they'll come out with a Japanese Kaitashinsho one. Doubtful though, they seem to only do those for the main games and Umbrella Chronicles never received one, just two rather cookie-cutter ones.

Yes, but that was all it was really needed for, to find all the destructable unlockables. Perhaps they realised that and justified that it wasn't worth the expense to produce one for the sequel. Who knows, guess we will have to wait and see.

The Biohazard Umbrella Chronicles japanese guide was dissappointing. The one I got didn't contain any character profiles or extra sections at all. I only got it because there were rumours it contained infomation on 'S'.

Have been keeping an eye out for this also. With the kind of push Capcom is giving it i can't imagine it NOT having a guide released for it. Still a month or so before launch, plenty of time for them to announce it i'm sure.

And hard copy all the way too.

Yeeeeah, I usually try to collect all the English and Japanese guidebooks as "collectibles," too, so I'm hoping they release one for DSC. I'd love for a hardcover edition, but I doubt there will be one for this particular game. But, damn, the hardcover RE5 guide is just so... gorgeous.

I don't think its just the strategy guide. Japan have made no tie-in products for the game, but they have promoted the game in another direction, specifically, more on-hand demos to the public. Only 2 tees and a money clip has been announced so far so hope there will be more such as a guide.

Still nothing. I'm still convinced this is due to it being on the rails. No point producing a 200 page book for a game where you can't even control where you go. Here's hoping i'm wrong.

Does anyone know if Dead Space Extraction received an official guide? If it did then i think we can put our fears to rest. If not, then its a bit of a shitter to have collectible guides for every single RE game bar this one.

Nah if Umbrella Chronicles got one and still guided you through the different parts, this will too. Pretty sure the Gun Survivor titles did also.

You're correct Stu. The Gun Survivors did have guide books. It would be odd if DSC did not get a guide, but I'm sure one will be released eventually. I don't remember getting the UC guide until after the game had been out for a week or two, so maybe it will come out after the game's release.

I wonder if there are going to be secret areas like in UC such as the bathroom and the R.P.D. office. Anyone have any guesses what they may be if there are any?

Ironically the gun survivor guide was one of the best of the series in my opinion. Very detailed for such a maligned RE title.
I realise UC had guides but i just question this due to the game only three weeks away from release in the US. Remember, primagames had a 15 page preview of their UC guide a good 3 to 4 weeks before the game was released.

I remember getting this and it had so many errors. Some of the unlockables were wrong and I had to go online when I had trouble finding some of the final files. I also remember it not telling you were to find the handcannon and I found it accidently.
