The Fourth Survivor from The Umbrella Chronicles simply makes more sense than the one from RE2. However, it still doesn't make the most sense.
First off, HUNK running through the entire western wing of the RPD is ridiculous - there's no reason that the ladder in the main hall wouldn't be lowered by the time he reached the station. Secondly, Leon and Claire unlocked all of the previously locked doors, so HUNK should have just taken the outdoor staircase in the southeast corner of the precinct to reach the helipad after emerging from the basement.
But most importantly of all, why wouldn't HUNK use the secondary path in the sewers to reach the precinct via Irons' secret pathway? It would take him almost directly to the heliport with minimal resistance, and I have trouble believing that "bad-ass, always-plans-ahead" HUNK simply wasn't aware of the path's presence...Mass production? Ridiculous!

Originally I pretty sure that the 4th survivor was not really supposed to be written into the canon and that is why there are all the discrepancies. Don't forget that if he left after Claire and Leon then the door to the helipad would be blocked from when Mr. X came threw the ceiling. Also where he is laying to start his mission, he is not seen when Leon meets Ada there.Mass production? Ridiculous!
