Believe the True.
Based on personal knowledge in Japanese (Best I can understand in the language is Katakana), I know the first word is supposedly "Marvin!", and it does mention something about "Raccoon" in the second sentence.
For help, I asked for some translation assistance here, and I got:
Marvin ! That's...
a police officer of the Raccoon Police !
And that's about it. I too am interested in translations of any 1.5 screens with any Japanese text on them.
So, John (Robert) must have been a placeholder for Marvin. if anyone has any pics of dialogue I'd be happy to try to find a translator for them. I have a few from bioflames but thats about it.
Fraid to say, it looks like the Biohazard Complete disc videos just reedited to look like a different video. Either way the same videos are available in the media section of Bioflames, though in a slightly lower quality. So I'm afraid there is nothing new there.
Here's a little something I found in last months play issue, strange as this is the first mag ive bought in years.unfortunately my scanner is out of action and my camera is too shite to take a decent pic but heres the whole mini article......
Did not finish
Resident Evil 1.5
Following the release of Resident Evil in 1996.Capcom decided to make a sequel. It would be called Resident Evil 2 and would be set in Raccoon city. The Resi 2 you ended up playing wasnt the game originally made. That honour falls to Resident Evil 1.5.
This version was allegedly 75% complete before Capcom canned it,stating it was too similar to the original.Development restarted on a new version of Resi 2 and the rest is history. The thing is,we'd already seen quite a bit of Resi 1.5 by this point.
It followed the adventures of leon Kennedy and Elza Walker and featured different enemies and weapons-a fair bit of which was released in footage that you can now find online. But the actual, playable game?dead.
(here's the slightly interesting bit)
The rumoured existing version of Resi 1.5 could-and should-be released as a psn download.Charge us a few quid.Call it a premium demo.Make sure we know its not a full version. We can't forget the Resident Evil that did not finish,so let us have a pop at it.
(the article came with 4 little pics aswell)
Okay so its nothing we dont already know but its nice to think there's people outside these communitties that would like to see its release!!
I have the 95 and 96 V-Jump tapes, are there Bio footage on 97, 98, or 99 (scratch that, I have the 99 tape too, no Bio listed on the back anyway)?
Hey Anders! I am currently brushing up the Wikipedia article for Resident Evil 2 and I need more references for the development section. Can you tell me which VHS this video is on? That is, title, publisher, release date, possibly images. I could not find it on your site.
Also, Carnivol, because I've seen it in your video description: Note that Jump Festa is something entirely different. The original reveal of RE2 was at V-Jump Festival '96.
The exact date they began work could be debatable. However, it was stated in an interview that work began almost immediately on BH2 (1.5) after BH1 was released. BH1 was released early March in Japan.
Is there any chance you can still give a link to that interview, Alzaire?

Minor slip on my end, should've had a "V-" at the front there.
[edit]Seems like a good few of the videos I uploaded around the same time accidentally lacked that one. Thanks for pointing it out. Cheers.[/edit]
Also, no clue when the tape with the footage came out... unfortunately (I first acquired my set in the mid-00s)

This site says the tape was released with the October and November issues of V Jump and required a subscription card to get it. So that would pinpoint its original release to October 21, 1996.
EDIT: Okay, next up. Does anyone know where this interview came from? Famitsu, I know, but it would be nice to know the exact issue, year, etc.
