Have we ever seen anything that confirms that Alyson Court did Elza's voice?
Of course It'd make sense for her to've been both Elza and Claire from a business perspective, as it means a lot of assets could easily be recycled during the redesign, without having to toss in more money for a lot of new recording sessions.
(At least we know that Leon's current actor has been around since 3.5. This was confirmed in a somewhat recent interview. Where he mentioned that he did the initial audio recordings for one of the demos, pre-redesign.)

The voice clip of Elza speaking from the third Complete Disk video doesn't really sound like her in my opinion. My guess is most of the actual dialogue was recorded new for 2 Final.
Also, Distant Memories is so good. I was so pissed when the retail game didn't have it anymore, I loved the atmosphere it gave during the demo.Last edited by randomwab; 12-30-2009, 01:05 PM.

I've only seen the Paul Mercier interviews mention pre-final stuff.

Don't think she ever says she was the voice of Elza in that interview.
At the start, she says she was brought in after doing the voices for Marvel vs Capcom (which was pretty much developed in the same time period as the final version of Resident Evil 2 was. Making it impossible for her to've been on 1.5, unless she did 1.5 first and then Marvel vs Capcom, but she clearly states MvsC was her first project for Capcom)
When she answers the 1.5 question later on, she only seems to say that she's aware of the development issues and changes between 1.5 and 2, not that she did the voice of Elza.

To be honest, I always felt that the reused 1.5 tracks sounded a bit different than the new compositions (especially the marshaling yard and the dead factory). Maybe that's why I wasn't that surprised when I also heard them in the PSM video.
Anyone else had this feeling?Last edited by abbatoo; 12-31-2009, 08:51 AM.

Here are some RE2 tracks that I believe were in 1.5:
Bus Theme
Cable Car Battle Theme
Giant Moth's Theme
Basement Of The Police Station
Cable Car Area (begins at 7:49)
Is Ada A Spy?
Battle Against G-Creature (not the whole track, just parts of it)
The Third Malformation Of G (the chorus part anyway)
Then again, who knows? Maybe all the melodies we hear in the final game were in the prototype in some form or another and were just rebooted/retuned to fit the new musical direction the game was probably given.
I just wish there were some videos of the characters interacting. The music being played during those cutscenes would probably give us a better understanding of what kind of musical style they were initially aiming for.

I can't believe this beta still hasn't leaked onto the net in over 10 years. So fucking ridiculous.Last edited by RetroRain; 12-31-2009, 10:49 AM.
