What I don't understand is why Capcom have been so secretive in regard to 1.5. What exactly is it about this game that offends Capcom so much? I would love to play it but a book or a DVD clearing up some of the games mysteries would satisfy me.

Thanks Abbatoo! I missed out on all the stuff that went down in 2007. I was able to get most of the stuff but those pics are great! Hope someone can come forth and show off the picture you request as well.

And it turned out that 1.5, and every numbered titles after that, would not be something that could be hashed out every ten-to-twelve months like how they hashed out the original Mega Man NES, Mega Man X SNES, and of course the Street Fighter 2 games. Resident Evil 2 was meant to come out about exactly one year after the first game, then they decided to delay it for another nine-to-ten months.
Mikami-san, Kamiya-san and the rest of the team wanted to make RE2 special, and not feel like RE1 with extra levels and characters. They wanted to retain everything that made everything in the original shine, such as individually unique rooms & areas. Interior & atmospheric-wise, 1.5 looked very static, something that Kobayashi said left them "in utter shock and disbelief" and feeling that "this is not Resident Evil, this is not what it should be". Ironically, RE4 as we all know looks even of a real RE game then 1.5!

If so, I saw it but for some reason I never thought to save it unlike all the other pics the Curator posted. I'm sure some people saved it though.Last edited by Vixtro; 01-11-2010, 05:26 AM.

@Logical Operand: What Vixtro said. It was just a small gif image that Curator used as his avatar before he pulled the plug on the PSM forums. If memory serves me correctly, it shows Elza in the process of getting her arms torn off (she's in a pose similar to Sheva in this video or Leon at 0:30 in the 1996 September trailer). Curator might have also said that this was an instant death move that could happen anytime, regardless of your character's health.

lesson learned though ay.
This was on of the images he posted on the forums, I'm sure some of you have seen it a few times:
It's special because it's pretty much the highest quality image of 1.5 we have, it is a high quality Bitmap image, not a low quality pixelated jpeg like all the other images the Curator posted.
Because the text had no pixelation around it, it was easy to contrast out into this:
Oh and while I was digging in my 1.5 folder I found this:
I think that was the avatar the Curator used after the aforementioned one, I don't remember saving it but it's there so.

I mean the guy posted a YouTube video, pics on his website article (that he updated with the wounded/bloody shots of Leon and Elza) and posted tid bits on the forums so naturally I just expected more to come.

I don't remember him using that image above for his avatar, whether he actually did or not, but I do remember him posting that on his 1.5 page at the PlayStation Museum. Thanks for re-posting it!
If Capcom is not going to release this game, they should at least make a new game just like it. And I'm sorry Capcom, Resident Evil 3 (Mikami's 1.9) and Dino Crisis 1 & 2 don't count.
They should make 2 new characters, that have no relation with the original characters, they are casual survivors, male and female, set in a city that has realistic modern environments, and has all of the features that were present in 1.5. It doesn't even have to be a part of the Resident Evil series. Give it a new name. They already spread most of the stuff from 1.5 into all of the games, so why not?
It's not like they are doing anything interesting with Resident Evil except ruining it, which is what drew my attention back to 1.5.Last edited by RetroRain; 01-11-2010, 07:55 PM.

September 28th 2013, 15 years after the Raccoon City Incident, strange and bizarre murders started to occur in the outskirts of Badger Ville...
Play as the rookie firefighter Liam S. Nixon, first day on the job, or the home schooled Ilsa Wanderer, local unicycle prodigy.
