Actually, Elza's scenario was supposedly going to be harder than Leon's. But it's hard to say how it would have been without playing it and with how things change during builds.

I know Curator said that Elza's scenario spawned less enemies, but she also can't take as much damage as Leon and she finds less ammunition.

Zombies and cerberus seem to be more plentiful in 1.5, and apparently there may be a few areas in the game where zombies will infinitely spawn (or at least re-populate every time you leave and re-enter).

Enemies may take more damage, but that may be a buggy and untweaked aspect of the beta. Similar to how in the goromacida video, a zombie continues to move normally with it's head blown off until it attacks Leon and then just disappears - obviously a glitch.

According to the source who had the final beta, he told Inflames that Elza couldn't obtain the heavy armor, whereas Leon could.

I know this line of enquiry is pointless without a copy of 1.5 to refer to but could it simpily be that the rooms/puzzels were to be finished first then the items/enemies tweaked after, and leon's scenario was a little more developed than Elza's? I know, speculation.

Ah the mysteries still surrounding the prototype.

Poor Elza, no Heavy Armour for her.

Yeah it's quite possible that is the case. Though I am unsure of how the room coding works though. I would imagine in the room data files, if they had planned on including the same number of zombies and enemy layouts for both, they would just program it that way and only include a character flag for a few differences. I would imagine this would be the case for items and ammunition. Anything that would be in the same place in either scenario would be there, with some exceptions.

I'd say if it's a noticeable overall decrease in enemies and ammunition in Elza's scenario, it's probably more planned that way. But who knows.

Yes, I should have done that to begin with. Here ya go.

This heliport screen uses two-point perspective. All those green lines intersect at that point on the left, and then there is another point, which is not on the screen, which goes far to the right. That point, which you can't see, is where those blue lines go to. I highlighted in red the line that doesn't make sense. I think it is a flaw in the 1.5 background design.

If that was true to two-point perspective, that red line would intersect at that point on the left as well.

In the un-touched screen, it is actually off. That top part of the side should be thinner as it goes into the distance, giving the impression that it is a little far away from the camera perspective.

Am I right? I noticed this, because I was in the process of re-creating this background in paint, but then I noticed that the perspective was off.

          • Well to me it looks like the image is a little fish lensed. The way the wall trails off near the bottom of the screen it seems to sharpely curve in, same with the tiles, they seem to curve rather than keep straights and the bottom right corner seems to bubble a bit also. The other two wall edges aren't perfectly straight either.

The wall not being straight could have been something on the other side which under the low resolution looks like the wall is thicker.

But I suspect more either the renders were done with some kind of fish lens, or the video was actually captured from a TV causing the bubble effect.

The Playstation Museum video was defiantly captured from a real console with a capture card or DVD recorder etc., the black borders around the original video are evident enough of this.

As for your theory of the 'bubble effect', I have no idea, I may have been capturing games going on 5 years now with a capture card but I've never really observed any of my videos that closely, I was always too busy trying to keep the pixelation to a minimum whilst achieving small file sizes.

              • Well it might not necessarily be the capturing thats doing the bubble thing but to me, even some of those lines which Logical operand drew over underneath, straight to me. The Yellow square for the helipad looks distorted to me. The more I focus on that image, the more it makes me feel sick. Can't explain why.

Got bored so made a fan Mod video remenicent of the prototype:

Skip to 7:10ish for the prototype feel.

Depending on your graphic plug-in/emulator settings, you can easily emulate this. But, yes, based on the general content of the PlayStation Museum and his youtube account, I'd say it's "likely" to be captured from a console, rather than via an emulator.

Awesome mode! How did you change the name to Elza and her pic in the inventory?

All the status pic and name is is a Tim file. Easily edited.

I still can't quite put my finger on why that screenshot is so out of perspective. A 3d model should never go out of perspective like that shown there unless the modeller makes the models that way.

Good eye there man. I didn't see that. The grey matches the floor on the left side of that wall, almost like it's not even there. Which is why I thought that black line was the wall.
