He's not being sarcastic. Canas is one of the rare breed that enjoys the movies. And is willing to shame himself by being honest about it.

This looks...well, it looks like an RE movie. It looks like it's aiming for Degeneration levels of suck so far, but given it's trying to base itself on a game that is impossible for the movie world to actually do (since almost everyone in the movies is dead from lack of food, water or the huge horde of zombies, not to mention the monstrous climate change loosing all plant and animal life would cause...how are they gettng people to infect with Las Plagas?) it could plunge into Apocalypse levels of eye gauging. We'll have to see how complete it's fail is.

And how Alice kicks the Executioner around, seduces him by being there, and has him go kill everyone for her.

Well Canas is not alone. I too enjoy the movies. I just think of them as someone's AU fanfic that has become a movie, and sit back and enjoy it.

I do enjoy the movies, they are nothing like the game(except the 1º that was like a parallel world RE1) but still I enjoy them

I've heard this argument before and it has a certain validity. The problem is...I don't read crap fanfiction unless I want to laugh. It's the same with these. They're bad movies. Not bad RE movies or bad zombie movies. Just bad movies.

Acting - Occasionally decent but often sub-par.

Story - HAH! The only thing with that beats the games in terms of plotholes and logical failures is the movies. It drives me mental. See; giant mental wall built in three days, thousands of people not willing to testify against Umbrella, survivors of a zombie plague unable to recognize symptons of infection, bitten survivor hiding bite despite knowing what will happen, cargo container of infinite capacity, virus killing plants but ont infecting people...etc.

Characters - Well, character. Alice. Everyone gets the bare minimun of screen time and doesn't do much of note. Yes, Claire leads her convoy. And is saved by Alice, does as Alice tells her in going to the Arctic, loses most of her people and would have lost them all if not for Alice. Carlos actually manages to gank a bad guy that Alice missed, out of six or so. Then he too does what Alice says in Extinction, and dies. Jill, I seem to recall, mostly tried to do stuff and then got saved by Alice without ever ac hieving anything herself. LJ says funny stuff, gets infected and apparently decides taking a few more people with him is the best plan.

Sadly, I tend to enjoy movies like Serenity. Which has a large cast of fleshed out and important characters, a gripping storyline, superb acting and no monstrous loopholes in logic. Of Fox, will your fail ever end?

So I'm not expecting anything from this movie. I 've already mentioned one potential plothole in that there aren't enough people left for a horde of Majini. I doubt that detail will ever be mentioned though. I doubt that it will even mention the dying world issue again, for that matter. I half expect a rain forest in this one.
