But the problem is that even as movies this series is horrible. While I think the first movie was OK-ish, both sequels were just plain horrible, even if you detach them from the game series. The plot was of poor fanfic level (with lots of plot holes and nonsenses), direction was awful (especially Apocalypse with its shaking camera :|), monsters look very so-so (zombies' faces in Extinction looks like rubber mask) and so on, and so forth. There is completely nothing there that I could say "satisfy me".

It's not just that the movie isn't exactly like the game. Silent Hill (the movie) is also far away from SH games - be it the plot or the overall quality; however it can easily defend itself when it comes to atmosphere (at least the first half of the movie), monsters designs and visualisations. RE movies have none of this.
