Oh wow... my friend had this issue, I totally remember it. He had every EGM issue from 1993 until sometime in 2000. No idea what he did with them all. I only started buying them in 1997. Of course when I read the issue I never would have taken much notice of the game because I never heard of it until just after it was released.

The shots in the #75 issue come from the video Capcom provided to some publishers back in 1995. Ice found a recording of that footage on something which was comparing the 3D engines of RE and Tomb Raider and uploaded it a few years ago. I'm sure there are copies of that floating around still.

The interview with Mikami was great though. Cheers for that

Get ready: There's actually some VERY interesting info in these pages from MAXIMUM, a UK gaming magazine. Circa 1996. No specific date. This is about Resident Evil 1.

Points of any kind of interest for any kind of reason whatsoever (I'm rushed for time now.)
*They wanted to include a Street Fighter character in the game.
*This was they're first polygonal 3D game. As such, they had trouble with the characters' textures.
*They had a tendency to redo the mapping a lot before release.
*A slightly different Final Boss. They actually spoil the games final areas a bit!
*Is it me or do I see Wesker with Chris in that same room where you fight that Plant 42 on Pg. 129?

I've got more pics coming! Stay tuned!

              Yes.
Does this actually happen in-game? I haven't thoroughly played Resident Evil 1 all the way, so I don't have a clue.

Not to derail this, but could you quickly look up which version of Killer Instinct 2 it is that they're previewing in that issues? (SNES, Arcade or "Gold" for N64)

As someone who's not familiar with the KI series or its development history, I wouldn't know much about it. But I still have this scan of an KI2 article from the same magazine where I got that last RE1 preview from.

Here it is (Its on the second half of the page):

This is one scan I have so far for Killer Instinct 2, but I'll surely keep in mind of that game for you. I'm interested in old magazines from the 1990s, specifically 1995 - 1999.

From what I remember Rebecca's helps you defeat it with the J-Volt mixture you don't see Wesker and Barry kills it with the flamethrower.

Wesker was meant to fight Plant42 algonside Chris in the earlier version?! Damn it! That's so much better than in the final build!

Also, I don't see Wesker's corpse in the Tyrant's room. Could it be that they decided to change Wesker's role in the game before its release?

Last time I probed Dot50Cal about the video (since he's super close to IceDDZ), it seemed like the VHS it was recorded on is long since lost, so we'd have to find another recording (or the raw footage, as provided to the media) if we're to get anyone a better recording of that thing. Unfortunately.
