The theme is 'darkside' here, so they are focusing the Birkin family over the 'cool scenes' of Hunk's team attacking Birkin or Chief Iron. There's a reason why the audio files for the scenario are the phone exchange between Sherry and Annette and nothing else.

Wow, I completely disagree on so many levels. I played Extraction for about two days and got completely sick of it, as it has almost zero replay value.
      Mass production? Ridiculous!

With all the issues I had with Darkside, I have to agree that I thought it was much better than Dead Space Extraction.

so does the regular Dead Space, and that's still better than RE5.

EA just killed CAPCOM this gen with Dead Space.

You should write a letter to Capcom, because I doubt they can hear you over all the cha-chings.

the only cha-ching i hear is knowing EA is one of the top 5 wealthiest divisions in gaming. the sad thing is, is that they hardly even attempt to make new ips and are one of the most disliked companies around.

They're apparently not wealthy enough to continue taking risks on new IP's.

And when you consider Resident Evil 5 sold substantially more than Dead Space (and Darkside will likely sell substantially more than Extraction), I don't think Capcom really cares how many people consider Dead Space a better game than RE5.

of course not, gaming afterall, is a business. its the quantity that matters to them, but the quality matters to us.

Meh - the 'cool' angle wasn't what I was going for with the Hunk sequence, it's more that it's an absolutley directorial masterpiece which incidentally also features the final exchange between Annette and William before G totally takes him over. The new scene is a complete waste.

My main problem with Darkside is that with Umbrella Chronicles, I think everyone found the Zero/Remake evels nostalgic, but the main 'meat' of the title was the new scenarios showing previously unseen story stuff. Darkside only has Operation Javier, and nothing else, the bonus scenarios reduced to being exactly the same missions with some new dialogue, and that's all.

Had 2 and CODE: Veronica been included in Umbrella Chronicles, we'd of seen more scenarios for Ada, both Chris' and Wesker's journey through CODE: Veronica, and probably more.

The whole of Darkside seems sold on the Resident Evil 2 and CODE: Veronica levels, and yet I personally feel they simply spoilt the essense and theme of both titles.

And finally - once again they totally neglected to do anything with Sherry.

At this point, I think we can safely say that Capcom doesn't care about Sherry anymore, if they ever even did in the first place. We should all just accept that we're never going to find out what happened to her and move on. If anyone asks, just say that she's still in the custody of the U.S. government, since that's all we know and all Capcom is liable to tell us.

In other words, do what we fans always do: bend over and say, "Thank you, sir, may I have another?"

Another thing. Why wasn't Birkin properly dispatched? You simply shoot the coupling and his train - goes off in the distance. Odd.

It's silly things like that which means people will think Capcom are re-writing history with this title. I'm sure someone will come out and say Birkin still alive because we didn't see him die, or explode. Or whatever.

don't worry about it, only canon scenario from DSC is Operation Javier

@ [STARS]TyranT: There's a column of smoke in the distance coming from the tunnel. You can see it once the train stops... I rather like the original ending .

Totally random thought, and it's probably a pure coincidence, but the ending to Memory of a Lost City was ripped almost verbatim from the Wildstorm comic adaptation of RE2, if memory serves.

Come to think of it, I don't think the train blew up in S.D. Perry's novelization, either.

this is why i don't take the chronicles series serious, because they just tore up the story line and left it even more broken, by adding even more material that's hard to follow. i mean, the absense of Barry Burton in UC should just tell you something.
