Is anyone else extremely disappointed?

The only "new" thing from the RE2 and CV scenarios in DSC that I would even think of as being canon is the fact that Alexander developed the Linear Launcher as a "last resort" to control Alexia's obsession with the T-Veronica virus. I'm not talking about the date of the recording, either, since we all know that was a massive screw-up, but rather just the fact that Alexander created the weapon.

What about the voice archives? I find the 'Memory of a lost city' ones to fit pretty well. Gives the name of Sherry's school and explains how Sherry got the locket.

I just completed the RE2 segment and just get the impression the developers got bored halfway through. The opening street and police station levels were great, so full of nostalgia. But then the later levels in the sewers and the lab were a major dissappointment. I doubt i will ever play those levels ever again and i only bought the game today! That Mr X fight before you board the train was so tedious.
Still too early to comment on Op Javier as i've only done the first two levels though they better have a got explanation as to why Manuella has not mutated if she has indeed been injected with T-Veronica.
As for CV well i've heard all the bad reports.

Well, you can assume William died with the explosion from the lab as you can tell from the
smoke off the tunnel, that's why they tried to separate the train cabins to both escape
from the lab's imminent self-destruction and Birkin coming along to decimate them.

I was just upset that they left out the airport, as well as most of the lower levels of the Antarctic facility. Come to think of it, a lot of the buildings should have had optional rooms to explore, like in UC (where an "open" prompt would appear for a few seconds and allow you to enter rooms and collect various goodies). Also, the changes to a lot of the rooms from their original versions (e.g. the kill house, no save room in the palace, that ladder shaft in the Antarctic facility that was pretty much ripped directly from Birkin's RE2 lab) upset me, as well. I know they had to rearrange things to make it flow better, but come on!

Also, it bothers me that CV got only 7 chapters while RE2 got 8. CV covered more surface area, yet is reduced to less. Lame. Chris should have been playable for the last two chapters; an extra one should have included more of the Antarctic base.

Remember, they have to shorten and cut out things to make room for everything else on the disc.

Oh, just to add...Sherry is just a character designed for RE2, like steve was designed for CV and Nicholai for RE3

You can't really say they were designed soley for their respective game, when most have appeared outside of it. Nicholai appeared in Outbreak, Steve's infection in Code Veronica directly impacted the events of Darkside with Manuella being injected with the virus taken from his body...and Sherry was definitely intended to return at some point (though, after the retcon from Wesker's report It's unlikely she will -at least not anytime soon).

But you really have no proof of that, Sherry being included in RE3's epilogue shows that the writers of the series at the time still had interest in her character. Now I'm not saying she'll be returning, but you really can't say she was NEVER meant to return again when you don't know the intentions of the writers. The entire storyline has most likely not been set in stone, so it's impossible to know what to expect with the characters.

Well, they changed RE4 story like 20 times, maybe in one of those stories, Sherry was intended to appear

Nope, he lives in the canon. There's a file in RE: Survivor from him dated after Raccoon City.
