  • The criteria for the unlockables in the game (possible spoiler)

without a strategy guide, i guess everyone's might have a hard time figuring out how to unlock the various secret stuffs for this game. I figure that we should have a seperate thread to discuss, exchange ideas and help to narrow down the possible methods to unlock them.

One thing to note, which is my own theory at the moment: For the Character/Enemy archives, it seems you have to shoot down the Umbrella icons found hidden in the chapter where the Character/Enemy first appear. For example, to unlock Alexia monster (who appeared in the last chapter of Game of Oblivion) in the character archives, you will have to find and shoot the Umbrella icon in the last chapter of Game of Oblivion.

For the playable characters (Leon/Claire/Steve/Chris/Krauser) you just have to clear a chapter with them. To unlock their alternate costumes in the archives, simply unlock the alternate costumes for use in the game itself.

I can only confirm the following (archive items refer to those Umbrella icons):

    - CHARACTER
    - Collect the archive items scattered among the levels. Except for Alfred Ashford (and possibly Manuela), the archive items can all be found in Normal mode
    *Alfred Ashford*
    - Collect the Archives item in Game of Oblivion Chapter 2 (Hard mode). The Archives item is in the vase behind the counter in the palace main hall
    *Manuela*
    - Collect the Archives item in Operation: Javier Chapter 2 (confirmed for Hard mode, but you might find it in Normal Mode. Need confirmation). The Archives item is in the fluorescent tube on the wall right after Leon/Krauser lowered the shutter of the discharge channel near the beginning. Its where Manuela 1st question them about Javier.

    - ENEMIES
    Collecting the archive items
    - You can collect all enemies bio in Normal mode (confirmed)

    - ITEMS
This is not confirmed, but it seems you just have to achieve an A rank for the headshot criteria to unlock an item for a chapter. Regardless, it is confirmed that Item is unlocked by archiving a very good performance in the chapters. (so its 100% confirmed you'll unlock an item if you S rank a chapter).
    - Some items can only be found in Normal while some are Hard mode exclusive
    Memory of the Lost City
    Spoiler:

    - TEXT
    Collect the Archives Items
(it almost seems that you can't obtain all the files in Normal mode...need confirmation)
    Memory of the Lost City
    Spoiler:

    Operation Javier
    Spoiler:

    - MOVIES
Each videos is unlocked once you viewed them once in the game itself

    - VOICE
    - By collecting the various Archive Items scattered throughout the levels in HARD MODE (and probably VERY HARD mode too) only.
    Operation Javier
    Spoiler:

    Memory Of a Lost City
    Spoiler:

How do you get all the costumes? I didn't unlock all of them for some reason even though I beat the game plus the "secret" and Krauser scenario.

It turns out you don't have to get an S rank to unlock items. You do, however, have to meet certain requirements in the individual scoring statistics (i.e. number of headshots, enemies killed, etc).

i'll love to post some photos but my camera isn't working at the moment. if no one beats me to it, i'll post them tomorrow with my brother's camera (if it is working).

@djepic112: I can't confirm the exact criteria yet, but I can assure you that they can be unlocked in normal mode

                        Yeah.

Also, xfactor, when you beat the game on Hard, you unlock the Linear Launcher.

There's one in the first lamp on the wall when you turn right in the L-shaped hall. Make sure you shoot it before you actually reach the corner, though, or you likely won't be able to get it.

There's also one in the hall before you fight Steve. It's in the first or second light on the ceiling, I can't quite remember which.

Then the only other one I know about is in one of the suits of armor during the Steve boss fight, but I don't remember for certain which one.
