One of you guys was looking for Javier's Private Message, right? I just found it in Operation Javier Chapter 3 at the very end of the level, when you are attacked by the first Jabberwock. It is in the very back wall in the area with the cones splayed around. Just launch a linear launcher blast in that direction and it will be exposed.

We should probably create a log of where all the icons are, since an official guide for this game seems unlikely.Mass production? Ridiculous!

Just beat the game on Very Hard, and all I got was a Title. I haven't played through the sub-scenario on Very Hard yet, though, so I don't know if that will yield different results. I also haven't S-ranked every chapter on Very Hard, so I don't know if that rewards you with anything or not.
Also, I'm strongly considering doing a fresh, New Game playthrough and documenting the locations of all the Umbrella icons in the game, but I'm not sure if it's something I'll actually get around to doing.Last edited by Archelon; 11-25-2009, 09:46 PM.

are there only 3 voice files for memory of the lost city?
also, i am at 12/14 for game of oblivion 1. I am sure 1 of 'em is the item unlocked by getting S rank while the other is either a file or a voice (hard mode). Anyone know where can i find it?

The first audio file in Game of Oblivion is in Chapter 1. In that small tunnel (the one behind the two giant metal doors) you go through just before you see Alfrexia singing, the audio file is in the very last light on the ceiling of the tunnel.
I have to say that the more I've played through Game of Oblivion, the more I've disliked it. I think it's easily my least favorite of the three scenarios for a number of reasons:
-Steve. He just does not shut up. I actually think he's even more annoying than he was in the original game. At least in the original, you only had to listen to him during cutscenes, not during gameplay too.
-Claire. Okay, let me preface this. Claire is my favorite female character, and I think Alyson Court is a wonderful voice actress, but holy cow, did they really overdo it in this scenario. I get that she's supposed to be scared, but she doesn't have to sound like she's exasperated or out of breath every single time she talks. I'd like to think it's more the fault of the voice director than Mrs. Court, but regardless, it was really grating on the nerves, especially for a character who's supposed to have been through this kind of thing before and is always presented as a very strong individual.
-This scenario has the longest and most frequent stretches of gameplay where nothing actually happens and the characters just talk. I'm not even talking about the parts that you can actually skip (where the HUD and reticule disappear). A few of them are even because Steve just won't stop talking. But there's the Alfred and Alexia home movie, the Alexia painting, Alfred taunting Steve and Claire inside and outside the training facility, that stupid "puzzle" you have to "solve" to gain access to Alexia's manor, etc.
-The Kill House. What a waste of a chapter. Would it have been so difficult for Cavia to actually model some extra areas from the original game instead of giving us this glorified shooting gallery? Even the concept doesn't make a whole lot of sense outside of the fact that this is a lightgun-style rail shooter. Why do Steve and Claire just stand there and wait for the targets to shoot them instead of stepping out of the way and waiting for the targets to raise back up on their own? I get that it's a gameplay mechanic, but come on. I would have much rather explored the bowls of Rockfort Island than make my way through this thing, but I guess it might have disrupted the flow of the scenario.
-Did anyone else notice that Cavia reused the entire ladder area from Birkin's lab (the one with the giant plant thing) in Antarctica after you face Alfred for the last time?
The thing is, Game of Oblivion started off really promising, with them recreating even the smallest details from the beginning of CODE: Veronica, but then about halfway through they got tired or bored or lazy and skipped whole sections from the game so they could create something entirely new that wouldn't take as much effort.Last edited by Archelon; 11-26-2009, 12:55 PM.

CODE: Veronica, again it's so similar to the original to begin with and so refreshing, but then again. Soon as they get to the kill house it's all down hill from there.
Even in Javier they start going back through areas all over again in the dam. By comparison Umbrella Chronicles was way more lasting than this, I remember I put 30+ hours into UC in the first week. Am I the only one who feels that we didn't get to see enough of the RPD? I mean, the RPD in RE2 is like the Spencer estate in RE1 - the main "landmark" of the game. Yet in DSC, so much of it was skipped over. For example, Birkin's lab gets 3 chapters in DSC (just like the RPD), but in the original you spend a third of the time in the labs when compared to the RPD.
Also, they cut out a big portion between chapters 3 and 4 - why couldn't we have backtracked to the basement? We could have gone through the basement and into the garage, instead of just randomly appearing there. It made no sense, and it was one of my biggest disappointments of the scenario.
Another disappointment was the lack of the factory. That area was so haunting in the original, and it felt like they just scrapped it due to laziness. We know they went through it, as they arrived in Birkin's lab via the huge elevator.
All in all, I think laziness was why they made Memories of a Lost City 8 chapters long and Game of Oblivion 7 chapters long. They should have been 10 chapters each.Mass production? Ridiculous!

Apparently this site have found the ways to unlock some of the stuffs in the game, but I have noticed that they are not 100% correct. Still I guess its a good reference material (for example, they claim that 2 of Leon's costumes have to be cleared in Hard mode but I've unlock them in Normal mode).
How to unlock Operation Javier Chapters 6 and 7
To unlock these last additional chapters, you must defeat the boss of Chapter 5 as quickly as possible. This will save a certain character you need to rescue and unlock the chapters.
How to Unlock the Bonus Scenarios
To unlock the hidden scenarios, you must beat Operation Javier Chapter 7 (see how to unlock it above) in under 10 minutes! This will unlock some cool bonus scenearios.
How to Unlock A Secret Mode
Fans of the second Resident Evil game (which you can read about in my Resident Evil 2 review) will be extremely delighted to see this hidden mode, which is a throwback to one of the weirdest hidden modes in Resident Evil 2. In order to unlock it, you must complete Operation Javier Chapter 5 on Normal Mode. The new additional mod will then be accessible from the bottom right corner of the Main Menu as “Secret”.
UNLOCKABLE COSTUMES LIST
Following is a list of unlockable outfits for your characters that you can earn by beating the game on various modes and difficulties.
1. Chris’s Caucasus Costume - Beat Operation Javier Chapter 5 on Normal mode.
2. Chris’s Mafia Costume - Get an S-rank on Game of Oblivion Chapter 7 (final) on Normal difficulty
3. Krauser’s Detective Costume - Get an S-rank on Operation Javier Chapters 1-5 on Normal difficulty
4. Krauser’s Mercenary Costume - Beat Operation Javier Chapter 5 on Normal mode.
5. Leon’s Agent Costume - Beat Operation Javier Chapter 7 on Hard Mode.
6. Leon’s Detective Costume - Get an S-rank on Operation Javier Chapters 1-5 on Normal difficulty
7. Leon’s R.P.D. Costume - Beat Operation Javier Chapter 7 on Hard Mode.
How to unlock Very Easy Difficulty
To unlock the Very Easy difficulty mode, you have to use “Continue” at least 10 times while playing the game on Easy Mode.
How to unlock Very Hard Difficulty
To unlock the Very Hard difficulty mode, you must beat the game on the Hard difficulty setting.

I S-ranked all the missions on Very Hard. There was marginal difference from Hard Mode. I got the title of "Resident Evil Master", which I suspect one gets simply for beating the game on very hard in general. I will go back and try to S-rank every part of the ranking table and see if that does anything, as I would rather do that than write most of my final papers.
Also, in general, for this game:
1) Claire is absolutely gorgeous in it.
2) The CV first half makes a lot more sense, as does having Chris AND Claire fight Alexia, but the Chris/Wesker stuff is underwhelming, as is Alexia herself.
3) OJ was a disappointment. The organ harvesting aspect was more interesting than Manuela and her father, and it was glossed over.
4) The RE2 segment was reasonably well told, although I hoped to spend more time in the Police Station and less time in the lab.
5) The gameplay and its rankings seems largely arbitrary: headshot distribution on anything but normal (in which sneezing on the Wiimote will accomplish a headshot), but it's loopy fun in an odd sense.
6) The boss fights are a real pain in the ass. Chapter 4 boss of OJ had me tearing my hair out. Death to Shaky Cam!
