Her hair is also a complete mess with bad alpha channels and incomplete textures.

As for the monkey ears, submitted for the approval of the MonkeyEar Society,
I call this the tale of the butt ugly ashley.

Look at the Final Ashleys Ears, hiddin under all that hair. I bet someone at
capcom looked at the beta ashley and went, her ears are too big, then some one else must have heard instead make them bigger. She could go
handgliding with those. Well they lost height but gained width .

Though both Ashleys have their flaws. Lefty looks too much like Leon for my cup of tea, and Righty looks like a child. If I hadn't have thought that Lefty
looked like leon I'd have said it was the superior by far but what has been seen can't be unseen.

I found nothing different for Leon in the RE4 GC release. I however do not have the RE4 trial to have a look at.

is it possible to check what's the texture size for her model? I guess its 2 x 2048 (one for her face, one for her body)?

All Beta Ashley's textures are 256x256 or less.

Err I think you mean replace the RE4 Ashley with the Beta one. Yes and no. Yes I could for the PC version and no because I currently do not have the time to rig and weight the Beta Ashley to Ashley's Skeleton. Rigging is timeconsuming to do it perfectly.

Via the original RE4 GC disc and a tool Dark-Matter forum wrote to convert the re4 files to Obj, but the version I had from them ripped models with faces reversed and no textures applied. Had to go back and reapply them myself.

They often leave a lot of beta data in a final build because it's easier than cleaning it off the disc. As long as it's not too big for the disc there isn't much point.

Here's a rundown of the unused DRS files.

                            pl03: Unknown girl
                            pl12: Red dress Jill
                            pl14: Mustache Luis

According to jamesuminator, Mario_Kart64n once mentioned that the NTSC NGC ISO of the game has all files from pl00.drs to pl21.drs while later versions are missing some (such as the PlayStation 2 bonus costumes pl17.drs and pl19.drs), though I have to deny this.

Yeah, that's BS - all of them are missing some files, 1B-20, for example. The Wii version seems to be the most "complete", however - it contains the PS2 costumes, aswell as the beta ones. What's interesting is that there are 2 different file types for each playable character (DRS - PC, DAS - NPC), exclusive to the Wii edition. It may be possible to swap PCs for NPCs, etc...

They often leave a lot of beta data in a final build because it's easier than cleaning it off the disc.
...which I have no problem with.
                              I'm a blackstar.
