What do you want to see in RE6?

I THINK it would be interesting to go back to Umbrella's routes, the power struggle between Spencer, Marcus, and the suspicious death of Ashford; what RE0 should have, and didnt do. Yet do this with the same revolutionary breath of fresh air that pervaded RE4. I also like Gene's point about a whole new cast, which could also breath new life into the story. I do feel a return to the 3rd person perspective can be done without going backwards, if the gameplay is sufficiently sophisticated, with a return to insidious puzzles, as well as the fast paced action sequances.

Am I the only one who's not enthused at the idea of new characters? RE already has enough characters shoved under a bed somewhere, waiting to never be used again. Enough is enough. I'd rather not see a RE6 at all, to be quite honest. RE5 tried its best to wrap up the series' main storyline, and to be honest again, I really don't give a rat's ass about TriCell.
The only interest I have left in Resident Evil, is Ada Wong and Sherry Birkin. Everything else is closed or forgotten. Although, I also think it's pretty safe to say that Sherry's been forgotten as well.
Let sleeping dogs lie. Bring on the (inevitable) shitty spin-offs, leave the numbered titles alone.

If RE6 doesn't involve Ada or Sherry, I'd rather Capcom not continue the series. The characters I've loved are starting to fade away, and I don't want to see the series become any more unrecognizable than it has already become. Capcom should just start a new series with a similar formula rather than this total "revamp" thing. Of course, I know that's almost impossible since the Resident Evil name is still a big money maker, but I wish the series would officially come to a close.

Me, I would want brand new characters to go along with the reboot. (by that i mean bye bye Chris and original cast, they're mostly dead or missing anyway)
Even though i like RE4 and RE5, i wouldnt mind the return of zombies/t-monsters etc with an epic story line. I'd like the camera to be like RE4/5 because (personaly) i feel more involved in the game, for example...i can look around the locations and scope out the danger (like you would in real life) and not be able to see whats behind me unless i turn around and so on...
I'd want an even darker look to the games story (and game play in general...gotta love the blue filter some movies use)
By darker, i think that being able to make moral choices would be a nice addition like...a survivor is infected, do i choose to shoot him/her or not?
(just to add to what some people have been talking about)
Sherry was just designed for re2, you may of had some info about her from other sources, but shes not exactly an important character is she? just williams daughter who was secretly given a pendant with the G-virus in. I doubt shes some sort of secret genious that knows the formula for a super virus or knows her fathers entire research down to the last detail. She (was) just a young girl dont forget.
Theres nothing else you can get out of her.Last edited by Andyfer_Ruu; 12-13-2009, 07:00 PM.

Something along the lines of this would make me happy, of course with a different environment though. It still pisses me off that Capcom chose to scrap that version and reuse ideas from RE4. What i really DON'T want to see again is co-op, it's fine to have it in a minigame or something, but not in the main game, it takes away the feeling of seclusion and the horror aspect of the game.
As for the characters, I'd like to see a female protagonist this time, since the last 2 games had a male protagonist, but I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up with Leon again.Last edited by CODE_umb87; 12-13-2009, 08:03 PM.

Andyfer_ryu, she also has a dormat G-virus within her. Additionally, she was abandoned by the one person who was purported to have cared for her. I'd say she has potential. That said though, it seems the Resident Evil teams have lost interest in tying up loose ends with actual dramatic potential or any real human grounding in lieu of Michael Bay-like effects and vague themes of a non-descript "justice".
And indeed, it's likely we will get Leon again, as Capcom seems to think (and they are at least partially justified) that the majority of the RE fanbase as it exists now want exclusively to play as male characters.

what they should do is cut back their speed dramatically, but keep the hord amount up, make them dumber but harder to get past, so that once they know your there its harder to kill them. left 4 dead is almost like the action of RE$-5, there isnt any scare to it cause all you gotta do is fart and the zombies come running at you, all thats left is to just sitt there and blow their heads off and finish them off with a pipe bomb :/
no i wasnt talking about left 4 dead, about RE our zombies.Last edited by Itashious_boy; 12-13-2009, 09:50 PM.sigpic

That Chris looked a lot better and more realistic than the one in the final. There was nothing wrong with it. His new look is horrible.
And for those that keep complaining about a new-cast, having old characters return would be lame. The only way to keep it fresh would be to bring in an all-new cast.

there's nothing more to be done in the series.
after Resident Evil 3, there really didn't need to be anything else, because it basically was the the original timeline that had only raccoon city and its surroundings.
but the more resident evil's universe expanded, the smaller the series became. and now RE5 has shown that its the end.
the only thing i want CAPCOM to do now, is let it go. and start from scratch on a brand new horror title, something refreshing, something undone, unheard of, an idea that can be squeezed out, as hard as it may seem.
the horror is dead. the more you grow up, the more you see this. i mean, really. by the time you hit like adulthood, horror just doesn't become an important factor in your life for games or movies (well, for me that is). people want so bad to be scared now-a-days for any game, but they're gonna have to let that go, because its not happening well enough. unless you were there in the 90s to play all these horror titles and actually feel that experience of shitting yourself at night, its time to let that go now.
horror games try too hard now to scary you, and they just fail to me, because they stray too far from it. too much action anymore, thus, why i think the horror is just dead completely. Silent Hill is on its way into the dirt, and Resident Evil is probably next to follow. i believe other horror titles, like Dead Space and BioShock (not so much a horror title to me, but merely suspenseful) are just taking over, because it seems that its not always about frights, or shit flying at you through a window, but something more.Last edited by Branden_Lucero; 12-14-2009, 01:09 AM.

For example, have a plot development actually affect them and their goals.
Claire has potential for this (Steve or Sherry coming back as evil), but they could do it with Leon/Ada, as well
But I'm all for a grittier, fresher start.
I know some people think he's coming back because Wesker said something.
But..he had the T-veronica virus in him. Not Weskers virus.
T-veronica wont revive him like Weskers virus. If Steve was meant to come back he would of been mentioned in a later game in a file or something.
Now Wesker is dead, Steve's bodie will carry on rotting in his basement.
And even if the virus made steve mutate again, he'd be a mindless zombie crimson head.
I have a friend who is a Steve super fan. And from what i can gather, is that alot of people want him back so they can carry on their Steve loves Claire obsession and fan fiction.
Personaly i think the thing Wesker said about Steve coming back was to silence the Steve super fans. They probebly got tired of all the letters and emails. (i think the cutscene with Weskers line in it was the added custecne into Code Veronica X)
(and to reply to what was said to me about Sherry)
If she has a dormant G-virus in her, all she will do is turn into a monster if it awakens. Again, not much story potential there. Nothing new or revolutionary to add to the plot.
It would be sort of like....ok Sherry, ive come all this to save you even though we've learnt nothing that we already dont know. Since you cant add anything new to the story except turn into a G-mutant i might aswell shoot you to get it over with.
Sorry, i hear about it all day from my friend it gets under my skinLast edited by Andyfer_Ruu; 12-14-2009, 06:27 AM.

Just what the fuck is that flying bat grub thing? The danger is presents isn't immediate, but it's just simply grotesque. More shocking then actually scary. It doesn't make me feel frightened for my life, because I have no context to compare it to. Uroboros is like this too. And Salazar... And the sea monster boss in DSC... And Irving...
I hope they don't have RE4/RE5-style bosses in RE6. I honestly can't think of other predator animals that would work though.
Ugghh... was it one of the Outbreak games that had an infected elephant? Also Gene it reminds of the 'Tyrannosaurus Tyrant' you mentioned in one of the podcasts from one of Perry's novels. Not a boss from a game I know, but still ridiculous and funny as hell
