What do you want to see in RE6?

  • Resident evil 5 was meant to be finishing up the main storylines included in the canon games and it did, but only for four character:
    Jill Valentine
    Chris Redfield
    Albert Wesker
    Ozwell Spencer

    But them simply tying up the loose ends with their storylines doesnt give us the answers to a lot of other characters that have played important parts in the story over the last 11 years.
    I don't propose that resident evil 6 tie up the other characters but i do feel that characters such as ada, sherry, rebecca and barry deserve some form of spin off game like code veronica that could at least share their fates. It was already hinted in the bonus features of degeneration that if they choose to do another cgi movie they would like to share rebeccas story with fans so i suppose if that movie actually comes to life that would be something, but what of the others...

    Resident evil 6 should be a rebirth of the series, new characters, new locations, but this doesnt neccesarily mean they should take away the elements they've provided in the previous games such as organisations, viruses etc.
    They could simply introduce us to new characters involved with the BSAA, terrorsave or the organisation as a way to start a new story. There will still be many incidents in the past we have yet to find out about and just because Wesker was finally killed (in a ridiculous way i may add) doesnt mean thats going to be the end.
    The one thing that should definately be brought back is the survival horror aspect with plenty of puzzles, having this missing is one thing that spoilt the series by turning it into nothing more than an action game.
    But who knows, what with the upcoming "lost in nightmares" we may get to experience some nostalgic puzzle solving one last time in the series.

          Resident evil 6 need more survival/horror elements with a horror atomsphere to it. Even if there's new characters with new storyline, at least have some zombies, hunters, or new scary creatures.

            • I myself would love to see real time light sourcing. Like a bulb on a wire in a pitch black room. When it moves the light in real time illuminates the room accordingly.

              I would also like to see high detail particle effects. Where the dust build up and molds and bacteria in a room is visible in the proper lighting. So that in a room u walk into that is pitch black all you can do is hear until light is introduced and then your eyes have to fix to the source.

              BOW's with eyes as light sources IE. wesker would be seen clear as aday in pitch dark. I would love to see this new action approach to the series done way smoother and without melee. I want zombies back for sure out of all bow's.

              I would like the setting to be like raccon city. Like wide open enviorment with plenty of buildings with floors and individual explorable rooms all different and a zapping systems to change the outcome each play through as far as enemy location and items. Key items shouldnt be as random as normals yet "controlled" as to how random the zapping possibilities can be to limit confusion on progression. Except on a professional difficulty.

              A real time physics engine. Im tired of things laying in the way to take space but zero to little interaction. Real time weather effects mainly rain and the different levels of saturation water can display along with how it interacts with the enviorment. Say like the 4th ward of the city is flooded then you would have to make your way to the water plant to balance the drainage and what not per say.

              I feel like RE1's story is perfect with how the mayor of Raccon city is and was the Engineer who built it in the first place pretty much. everything is being ran by a corporation which funds day to day operations within and out the city. From the countryside to under the city. The civilians have no idea. Shit the local authorities dont have a clue let alone the special forces unit is created managed controlled and used as battlefield data against potential products. I think about that sometimes and im like that sounds very real. Look around and corporations in reality are very much the same way. I feel the series is far from gone.

              There is plenty to build from. Similar scenario different company like say Tricell's variant. Diggin up its dirt and how it runs a world based tactics unit like stars the BSAA. Uncovering the secrets that lie in the cracks of a city in ruins. Throw in some NPC survivors and that would be dope.
              Its just the end of stars story thats all. Because we have grown with these characters it has made it hard to stray away. But really if anything the camera has only zoomed out for you to see the real effects of what umbrella /tricell have had on the worlds development and the amount of crisis it has left. I would like to see a perfected version of outbreak. In fact if they just did that for the next chapter with my graphical and technical facelifts I think it would be a nice attempt. With gun shops and police stations and squad cars and vacant Commercial vehicals as ammo surplus and item cache would be cool. That way it would hold everyone over until the next story based game withought feeling pressured by expectations. We wouldnt want another 1.5 to occur and we havent even played that one yet.

                    • Personally I believe Capcom should bring back the zombies, since the whole Ganado/Majini thing isn't working for me. (I know this because the first time I played Resident Evil 4 on the PS2, it felt like I was playing a different game by the time I got to Ramon Salazar's castle.)

                      I know that some people have already said this a hundred times, but I want Capcom to give the zombies the ability to sprint towards the player character (Dawn of the Dead Remake style) in order to increase the horror for RE6. I also want those zombies to be twice as aggressive and more "blood-thirsty" if you will.

                      Since the action-oriented games (RE4 and RE5) doesn't suit the tastes' of the "original fanbase" (a little nickname I made-up for those who've became a fan of Resident Evil series since 1996, for example) very well, I want RE6 to be a survival-horror game as well.

                      They can keep the "behind the player character camera angle" from RE4/RE5, just tone down the action.

                          I didn't have the V-ACTs (Crimson Heads) in mind when I posted my thoughts on how Capcom should make RE6. But it's not a bad idea.

                          As for the whole "reboot" thing, I assume it's going to be the same storyline with the same characters, we've followed since the very first Resident Evil game was released in 1996, the only difference is that they'll be putting in "several major ret-cons" in order to keep the series up to date.

                          Such as: -

                          - Having the Mansion Incident and the Raccoon City Incident take place in the year... say... "2010" for example instead of 1998.

                          - The characters we know and love will end having their personal lives/back stories/etc. tweaked/changed.

                          You get the idea.
