ok i've got only one of the survivor games and thats dead aim, i'm getting survivor and code veronica for chrismas, i've been looking around for the other one, or are there just three? someone fill me in on the order and name of the survivors

this topic is also an open discussion about the survivor REs
i never really thought they had a real impact on the plot of RE but that it reaches further into the world and shows that umbrella is still wreking havoc on other parts of the world that doesnt touch our beloved main characters.

in my opinion they really need to come out with another survivor, its almost dead

As for Survivor: Although the gameplay was redundant, and the dialogue truly awful (even for a Bio game... O_O that's saying something), the story was pretty good. The fact Spoiler:

they kidnapped all those children

, though, was kinda... haunting. Graphics were pretty meh, same for the cutscenes. Enemy diversity was really good, except for the fact many of them were recycled models. End boss was cool.

As for Survivor 2: CVx: It was... okay. Kinda stupid it was a dream. And Spoiler:

... wtf? Haven't played this one, but from what I've seen, not too impressed. I don't even think there was dialogue... I hope I'm wrong.

As for Survivor 4 (Dead Aim): Gameplay was cool. The fact you had to shoot the zombies in the HEAD for them to die was great. The Spoiler:

... did they ever explain how that was fucking possible???). Graphics were okay, but the cutscenes were great. Enemy diversity was okay at most, though I have to agree the designs were pretty cool, especially Pluto's, the new Hunter's, and Spoiler:

3 was Gun Survivor 3 in Japan, and called Dino Stalker in the west. It's a spin off gun shooter from the events in Dino Crisis 2 somewhat.

Right in my honest opinion Survivor 2 isn't worth getting. Its just an arcade game.

After getting GS2 a few years ago I decided that GS1 was better. Over the years I have softened to Survivor. Its by no means great but at least it has the old school feel. You know, find a secret lab, kill a tyrant. Ride off into the sunset/rise formula. Survivor if it had been executed slightly better would have been an acceptable addition to the Series. Unfortunate its kind of the uncle you don't want to socialise too much with.

Survivor is a rather interesting game. The characters are actually really cool. And Goldman, Goldman is a cynical douchebag. We need more of him.

As for Survivor 2, does anybody know when it even takes place? Was it while she was asleep/unconscious in the Antarctic before Chris went to wake her?

And one more question for Survivor 4/ Dead Aim: Was that... laser thing from a satellite??? From OUTER SPACE!?!?

As far as I remember it was supposed to be when they crashed in the Antarctic. Only played each of the chapters like once.

Survivor was amazing and its just a pity it had shit production values. Great story, kickass enemies, great variety but too short/shit script/even shittier acting.

I love the first Gun Survivor.

The 2nd one (CVX) isn't a great game but it's a port of an arcade machine. I think when looked at from that perspective it's not all that bad.

Gun Survivor 3 (Dino Stalker in the west) is a very fun, good game.

The 4th (Dead Aim) is the best of the lot.

All these games are designed for/are best with, using a light gun. Unfortunately Namco's GunCon3 for PS3, is a chunky looking, overly complex thing, which never took off in popularity. There's only one Time Crisis game that can be used with it. I was always gonna buy one eventually (I love Time Crisis) but thought I'd wait until there was a few more games available to use the gun. The 'other' games have never come...
Sadly, this meant there's no chance of a new Gun Survivor.

However... The light at the end of the tunnel could be the new 'Motion Dildo' for PS3. If it becomes a popular way to play games, there could definitely be new motivation for Capcom to revive and continue the series!

Our? What the hell are you talking about? It's Gun Survivor 3 because that's what Capcom wanted it to be. They were experimenting with the FPS genre by making these spin offs to RE and Dino Crisis. Most fans of RE are also big fans of the Dino Crisis games as well.

yea it is called Dino Crisis Gun Survivor 3, its part of all the PFS games, Survivor, survivor 2 CV, survivor 3 Dino Crisis, Survivor 4 Hero's Never Die...blah blah blah. Side stories and such.


Honestly Dino Crisis needs a revamp and needs to come out full hard core new graphics and back to its story line. How can they call that X-Box piece of shit a DC game???

Survivor at the time was not the best looking game but was a nice hold me over at the time until CV came out. I think I beat it a few times and then moved on to other things but would like to play it again. It's a shame that the US version is no compatible with the Guncon.The Chronicles games are kinda the same, just a RE fix until the next game comes out.
