The point I was trying to make is Chris and Jill whose characters were fleshed out by their story arcs have finished. There is always the potential that they could return but their new story arcs would have to be strong ones not weak ones. Throwing them into another outbreak scenario just wouldn't work. Throwing them into a BSAA mission wouldn't have enough plot to immerse the player, unlike Chris/Jill taking down umbrella/Wesker. Now a new guy, we'll call him bob, goes on his first BSAA mission and all goes to pot would work but Jill going on a mission then the whole thing falls apart doesn't feel like a good use of her character.

The veteran characters need to be challenged rather than repeat what they have already done, which is pretty much "Global Saturation" of Bow weapons/viruses. Pretty much Jill needs to be put into a no win scenario where she wins to develop her character. Do you really want Jill to become like Mario or Sonic? Their plots have stagnated not improving the character and look whats happened to them. I'm not saying that Mario's and Sonic's latest games aren't fun to play (though I haven't played a sonic game since Sonic Hero's or Mario Sunshine) but RE's Stories have tried to develop their characters in the past whilst being fun to play, throwing Jill back into situations where she has already been feels empty to me and below her.

Leon shouldn't of had a game after RE2 since all the finishing Umbrella crap he spouted at the end he never did a thing to help with and then Umbrella was gone by the time he starred in another game
RE3 pretty much retconned that with the forcing him into the govenments payroll. So he couldn't help out. There was also Ark Thompson who on leon's request went to investigate umbrella.

Leon hasn't had much character development via story arcs and he still has one big arc left over. Becoming a free man, so he isn't a puppet of the US government and to fly off into the sunset after freeing Ada from the organisation, never to be seen again. Again Leon had little put into his character and being the governments whipping boy could end up doing anything. Where as logically to me, if Chris was so distraught after Jill's "Death", (you wouldn't let someone who you thought had died, and their death affected you so much, continue in a dangerous profession) he and Jill would quit and settle down since their grudge is at an end.

Claire probably only appeared in Degeneration to end her RE career since she was kind of left up in the air and nothing mentioned about her since RECV.

On a side note, if they made a proper game about umbrella being taken down, then Jill would have a good enough outlet/story arc worthy of her.

It was just luck (lazy writing) she met him the second time and Leon has never been assigned to track down her or the Organistion. There is no reason why she would meet Leon again unless Capcom invent a reason, in which case see where I said in my long post that they can write a reason for anyone if they want.
Come on, this has nothing to do with reality, and certainly not luck nor "lazy" writing. Since RE2, Ada and Leon has "belonged" together. Capcom will keep it that way, that's just good storytelling procedure. Surely Ada has been on several other missions where she didn't meet Leon, but Capcom will never tell us those stories.

Ada will never appear without Leon, I'm sure.

I understand there was going to be people like you here, and I did mention not in DLC form. I want her as a main in another game because I AM A MASSIVE FAN OF JILL.
WHY ELSE WOULD I NOT WANT HER AS A MAIN.

I'M SICK OF LEON, I'M SICK OF CHRIS. I WANT JILL IN A GAME OF THERE LENGTH OF GAMEPLAY. WHY?, CAUSE I'M A FAN OF JILL.

WE ALL KNOW DEEP DOWN THAT THIS NEW DLC WON'T TAKE LONG TO FINISH AND IT'LL ONLY BLEND IN SOME LEFT OVERS.

AM I THE ONLY FAN OF JILL THAT MISSES HER NEMESIS DAYS.
I HAVE LOVED THIS SERIES AND JILL TO MUCH TO WAIT ANOTHER 5 YEARS FOR JILL TO MAKE A COMEBACK THE WAY WE WANT HER TO COME BACK.

RESIDENT EVIL FANS HAVE CHANGED. THE SERIES JUST ISN'T THE SAME ANYMORE.

there is no way in hell i will just give up on Jill like you all have. She is too dam good of a character.
lulz Why hello there MissV. Come back to troll among us again? You made a thread. Deal with people that are going to disagree with you.

People wonder why the Jill fan base is getting so much hate? It's for responses and outbursts exactly like this. Immature, unproductive in conversation, insulting, and thinking the forum/thread is set up solely for the purpose of having people say what they want.

My answer is clearly no. Jill doesn't need to be a main protagonist again, even a game revolving around her. We will most likely have Jill mentioned or a cameo because her being one of the original 11 in the BSAA.

Just like I've said in another thread, if you want a character in a game that is more or less story-driven, the character needs a purpose to be in said game. Both UC and RE5 wrapped up Jill's and Chris' stories that started with RE1 (Capcom even used Jill's infection and the vaccine she was given in RE3 in RE5 story - something that probably was nothing more than a plot twist in RE3 used just so Carlos could be a playable character for several minutes). Right now there's really no way those characters could evolve more, because RE5 already recapped Jill's and Chris' story from the last 10 years, therefore using them once again would be just boring story wise.

And while we're at it, I have a question too - why do you want her as a main char in another game?
Because of story? Well, RE5 gave us more story about Jill than the game in which she starred - RE3 - did.
Because you want to play as her? Incoming "Lost in Nightmare" and "Desperate Escape" says hello.
Not going to quote all the rest of the logical responses, but I agree with all of them.

As it has been said by many people, many different times: Jill has been Capcom's poster girl. She has been in more games in and out of the series. She had that lovely plot device role for Re5 that allowed her to not only become the convenient cure, but also a super human fighting machine (this may or may not be permanent). RE5 also ended in such a way that Capcom seemingly is attempting to put a close on Chris, Jill, and Wesker's past.

Jill's story ending with a bang? Hm....let's see...what happened to her in re5? She was supposedly dead, came back to life with above mentioned super powers being controlled by the arch nemesis, breaks free of the control, (insert whatever useless activities follow in the DLC since it wont change what happened during the end), she arrives in a helicopter in time to save the other main hero of the series, and is by his side when the rockets go off, killing the villain. Hm...that sounds like a pretty large fucking bang to me. You even get to see what appears to be vaginal discharge and her ripping open her pleather body suit. Bang indeed.

Imagine, if you will - a stock of vaccine for the t-virus is destroyed before it can be delivered to a major population. A message scrawled on the wall says, 'I will win this game again, Chris,' leading BSAA leader Chris Redfield to assume that somehow, in someway, Albert Wesker isn't dead. He, Jill and the BSAA investigate the city only to find it's a trap with more hints of Wesker's handywork. Most of the BSAA who go into the city end up dead but Chris and Jill make it out, following the breadcrumbs, until they find out that Wesker isn't alive but someone has taken control os his assets, using Wesker, Jill and Chrises relationship to lead the BSAA to destruction. Maybe someone we know (Ada, Sherry or the true evil Enrico Marini!) or a new character. Depending. It then sets up a new arc with a new enemy facing the remains of the BSAA. And Leon. Because Leon is like a nasty veneral disease that's hard to get rid of.

Other than something along those lines, or Wesker showing up again (no, Capcom. Just no.) I don't see an obvious reason to return to Chris and Jill, especially not in RE6.
Probably the best synopsis for the next game that I have seen to date. Psychological/Survival Horror.

I'd have to agree that putting Jill in the next title would just be too much, too soon and just too dumb. Other than Darkmoon's/similar plot, there is no real reason for Chris and/or Jill to even bother leaving the house. I would think that they themselves would think that there work is finished with the death of Wesker/Umbrella and now it's time for some R&R.

The morality/story of this thread; people can be bat shit crazy and don't like the meaning of the word "opinion" not applying to the same contextual meaning of "fact" when it comes to their own personal feelings of the series. Jill might as well be a cheap hooker that's got a cocaine abuse, and be the main character, and her fans would love it like a obsessed blindness addiction. She already looked the picture for Resident Evil 5 (at least to some degree they almost got the right picture due to her severe injuries and the causes of "Nina william cells" changing her skin and hair". I might as well with go with this metaphor, "How many gamers does it take to screw a light bulb? None because they will complain saying how the old one was better". Poor performance indeed.

That is what the next installment needs.

The same could be said for sticking Leon and/or Ada into the next title. It'd be too much, too soon and just too dumb. It's best if Leon and Ada stay in Zion riding around in the Nebuchadnezzar, fighting Agent Smiths.

The next installment needs more realistic (and fewer) characters to increase the tension/fear and allow for some worthwhile character development.

Holy shiznickels that was a GREAT idea!!!

I love your "I will win this game again" message (reference to the message in DSC-CVx, I believe).

See, now if I were one of the Jilluminati's (sorry Dark, it's funny), I would be going bat shit crazy right now saying how Ada is the be all and end all of RE. I mean really if you look at facts there are only a few things needing finished by the storyline. What happened to Sherry (other than just the government has her), who is The Organization, and is Steve really dead or has he been hidden? Other than that, there's really nothing more to discuss concerning the current story line.

Jill will be in another RE game. Capcom just announced it.

It's called: Resident Evil: Post Traumatic Stress Disorder

BUT ADA IS THE BE ALL END ALL OF THE SERIES! GET OUT OF MY THREAD! Just kidding dearie. I want Ada to return...but Capcom needs to leave her out of the evening gowns. And Steve....my god....Steve needs to stay dead. If anything can be worse than the Ada/Leon 15 minute romance spanning 6 years, it'll be the Claire/Steve back from the dead affair. Because you know Capcom will do it.

If anyone needs to come back...its Bruce and his funny accent. I withdraw my previous statement about Ada. BRUCE IS THE BE ALL END ALL OF THE SERIES!

                        ^ LOL...

I haven't played Dead Aim yet (don't have a guncon2 and I want to play it properly), but I have seen some of the cutscenes and if you can hear them, yes his accent is quite hilarious. And as for the new title, I can't wait to see Jill in her pajamas sitting on the couch eating a tub of ice cream, watching soap operas and mascara running down her cheeks. IT WILL BE EPIC!!!! Somebody will knock on the door and she'll dive behind the couch thinking it's a bomb going off...

I hope Jill doesn't star in another game as a main character. It's not that I don't like her (however, the 'Los Jilluminados' [Yeah, I heard that somewhere here at THIA] seem to be killing her for me), it's just that there would be no reason for her to continue, she has been wrapped up (unless the writer at CAPCOM come up with something GREAT, otherwise, it's just fanservice, IMO).
