*Looks towards Ms Redfield* Feels like they are setting her up for a fall. Both Leon and Chris would be pissed and out for revenge.

If They Killed Off A Main Character Who Would You Want It To Be?

I still think that Ada should be killed off, but by Leon, in a situation where he would have no other choice but to do so.
It would add emotion to the series, and make for an interesting turn of events. I don't see any of the "main" characters dying (Chris, Jill, Leon, Claire) as it would make no sense other than shock value (e.g. Chris Redfield Killed by Rogue Boulder).
Ada, while not a "main" character, has always been expendable in my opinion. Killing her off actually seems logical to me.Mass production? Ridiculous!

I'd love to see a main character die. Anyone whose appeared in over two games. Claire is a logical place to start, as it creates possible revenge scenarios for both Chris and Leon as Enrico points out. But really, any of them would do. A good scenario can be built around killing off any characters. Leon is investigating an abandoned Umbrella Lab, looking for details on one of there many, many doomsday weapons only to be stabbed, horribly, just before finding it/escaping. Then the BSAA are called in to go look in.
Of course, I doubt Capcom ever will. One day, Enrico Marini will return. You know it, I know it. Hell, they've probably got Darth Wesker in production now, risen from the lava and with cyborg parts, but since he now has super mind powers it's all good. Maybe even a shiny sword made of lazers! An a black helmet. And zombies in whit armour with lazer guns!
In other words, I don't think Capcom will kill off a character, and when they do, even if the character should stay dead, I doubt it. Capcom seems to be terrified of offending certain characters fans. Although, given that fan is the shortened form of fanatic, and remembering how some people act, I'm not sure I blame them for there caution.

How about a rogue element of Umbrella is left over and sucessfully dispatches of Chris, Jill, and Rebecca. Barry has to come out of retirement to end umbrella but in doing so, Barry gets killed. Then no one can complain that they killed off their favourite Stars character since they will all be dead. Then only Leon, Claire, Ada, Sherry, Carlos, Billy, Ark, Ashley, Bruce, Fong lin, Kevin, Alyssa, Yoko, George, Jim, David, Cindy and Mark will need to be taken care of.
I don't necessarily think a character needs to be killed off. More that a " 'happy' ever after" ending needs to be applied to some of the characters to indicate that they are done with.
Enrico Marini will return.
Darth Wesker
*Chris surrounded by weskers*
Wesker#0001:The beauty about me is that, there are so many of me.
But even if Capcom do kill someone, it doesn't mean they'll remain dead. Look what happened to Wesker.......
Then there is Konami who go around willy nilly killing Harry. God damn it.

I think if any of the characters were to be killed off and it actually add something to the story, it would probably be Claire. Maybe later on down the road, when her brother's kind of gone into retirement, yet she refuses to. Type of thing where Chris like...idk begs her to stop because it's too dangerous, then she winds up getting killed because of it.
Que Chris coming out of retirement?
I have no idea. :B Just an idea, I guess. It's rather cliched, though.

You kill off Chris/Jill/Leon...you end up angering half of the fan base. Look at how the whole Jill situation was. Granted on this forum people act like killing off Jill would be a good thing because they are annoyed with all the Jill worship. For the most part though, most fans were mad at the fact of killing off Jill. Does it make sense to kill off one of the most popular characters just to appease a few?
I can agree with some that if Jill were to have died in RE5, it could of worked in the story. They didn't and as I and many others have stated...Chris and Jill's story is done. They won't be killed, in fact they won't be featured in any games because if they do...it would be ridiculously unbelievable. They won't kill Leon because he has a fan base that is just as big if not bigger than Jill's. How about Ada? Ada is protected by the Jill effect. Ada and Jill are the only two hot recurring characters...so don't count on that happening.
So let me emphasize again, killing off a character only means as much as their importance to the game it happens in. You want a meaningful death? Create a character or utilize a character, give them some development in the game and then kill them. Don't use a death to rocket launch a game...it's stupid.

Claire never fought or went after Umbrella/evilantagonistcompanies save for when she was trying to find her brother. How she was shown in Degeneration pretty much sums up what her character is. Like you said, none of them would really work worth a damn if they were going to be used to start a whole new game. I'm with Dot and others in regards to the tossing out the old cast and starting with a fresh one. I was merely stating an idea. I'm of the volition Capcom will pretty much toss the old cast aside in the upcoming installments anyways.
Might explain why they're release date is so far in the future. Gives them enough time to create a whole new cast with back stories as well as a new plot to go by. Hopefully, at least.

I'm surprised it hasn't been mentioned yet but there was a death that really impacted the game. The death of Umbrella. I don't know about anyone else but I felt taking down Umbrella (off screen) really killed alot of the atmosphere that was in the previous games.

I would go for Rebecca, but since she's not a main character and she's already dead, I'd chose Ada Wong or Claire. Chris's sister has become rather annoying and barely important to the series. They could've made a plot with her looking for Sherry but we all know Capcom isn't that smart to invent something like that. Fans should make RE6 with a new cast!
Oh, Jill can't die.. she's inmortal!
