I would you want an ID that is unique to you not one that has been given out over a website that multiple people have tried using at one point or another.
You can get the ID off you disc using this http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=dnas.html

Yes but keep in mind there's only 65535 id possibilities for whatever you change the last four XX XX digits too which is why you should really be using the id from your ORIGINAL disc.

I see, so I should just use my original ID then? Btw if I get an account I may need help setting up the network as it's hard to navigate through the menus

If your able to get it then yes in all cases use your original id, if not just use that above one and just change the xx xx to something random between 00-FF until you get one that works.

It is that simple if you have a JP system and game. The posts above that make it all seem complicated are just referring to what it takes to play it if you have a modified PS2 playing the imports. It's not that complicated either if that's all you want, as you just have to create an iso of it and patch the DNAS (preferably safely, like kev mentioned) and you're good to go.

Making a patch for the translated assets are pretty easy. If Dot50Cal and Alzaire ever finish things, I'll make a patch. And, yeah, the DNAS thingy is the icky zone. The most annoying part is still the registration process for paying and playing.

Too bad we can't easily make a fake server of some sort instead and just redirect all traffic to it.

The patch would be so cool! But I agree it is too bad we can't create our own server to play the game online

This is a silly question, but is there anyway to convert your saved game from the US version to the JP version? I highly doubt it but it doesn't hurt to ask

Switch the name to the japanese name and drag and drop your US files over the JP ones, using PS2 savebuilder.
