I think I used another Japanese Videogame company's adress. I don't remember, because it's been so long. I make my online purchases with a prepaid credit card so I'm using that. Once I forgot to fill it up when it hit zero. The KDDI charge went through anyway.

I don't play often. It gets kind of boring. But it's fun once in a while. I'd still love a file 123 DVD with 15 or 20 scenarios. They keep making lousy shooters and side games, I don't see why they can't just release a fully made freaking game. :/

I see. I was thinking of making an account but it just seems like too much and then you have the risk of randomly being banned

I too wish they would make a File 123 DVD/Bluray or even PSN port.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of these silly shooters etc.. myself

Well KDDI sort of cancelled the accounts when they banned us.

But no, we didn't recreate. We were too concerned about the potential billing issues from a few of the horror stories about being billed after being banned and it being a nightmare to get in touch with KDDI and cancel the billings, esp. since we used false info. Dot canceled his credit card and I had called my credit card and told them to not accept any further charges and such.

But randomwab has expressed interest in playing it again a lot of times when we have group discussions, and honestly we never got to play File 2 that much. I think we all want to play again, but we're all generally busy or just involved with other things and just haven't felt up to going back just yet.

I'd bet we will eventually, but I can't say when we might get into it again.

The good thing though is I still have the patch files for the JP version to translate it most of File 1 back into English, and I have the incomplete files from the File 2 version (which we never finished.) So if we do get back into it, we don't have to start that project over from scratch.

Thanks for clearing that up! I bet it would have been a pain trying to contact KDDI. Maybe I'll create one in the future if more people do the same? I'd hate to go through all of that billing drama as well.

Oh so you still have the translations patch for File 1? I was curious if I could try it out unless for some reason it only work sin online mode If not I totally understand. Thanks again!

Oh, sorry I forgot to respond.

Well the thing is the patch wasn't quite finished. It's not quite a "patch" in it's current form. It's a bunch of separate files that you'd have to use a software or two to manually replace on your JP copy after you create an iso from it and then re-burn it to be run on a modded PS2 (which also then needs another sort of fix to bypass the DNAS security from recognizing you're using a iso online). It's kinda a hassle in its current form. We weren't finished with translating and fixing the SP items yet, so Dot didn't create a simple patcher before we sort of left the project behind after we quit playing. I suppose I could have the files uploaded and see if I can get Dot to help remind me on the process of how to properly replace the files (it's not just as simple as copy/paste). But I dunno if Dot wants that, since he probably eventually would like to finish the project when/if we ever get back to Outbreak (which we probably will someday, since I'm sure we'll make a section on the site for it. He had big plans for it while we were playing, dunno how he feels now though.)

(And just for the record and keeping in guidelines of the site rules, I don't endorse pirating the JP version for eventual use with this "patch". It does require an iso, but we prefer you create one from your own legit copy.)

No worries So it's not just copy/paste? Ha ha I figured there might be a little more work behind that. But that's cool thanks for filling me in on that. I was reading through the old Outbreak thread and he seemed to have big plans for it like you said. Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Oh I understand. I made isos from my original copies. I got File 2 for $10 bucks off Playasia a few years ago. Now it's like $57 USD.

If I start playing online again only thing I'd really need help with is setting up the network connection as the menus are hard for me to navigate through

Yea it's a really good method, I use it for practically everything online, especially PSN, etc. You don't have to worry about getting charged for eternity and other things like ID theft.

Never thought of using one of those. How much does it cost exactly? And which do you use? Unless that's a dumb question lol.

So the patched files have to be replaced in a certain order? I ran into trouble fixing the adlibs. It seemed like some afs files could be beefed up and some other couldn't. Can I dissscuss this here?

That'll be why various people have been banned at random, if people are found to be using the same DNAS ID online at the same time the member who logged in last will get banned which takes into account your PS2 id as well if that happens you'll need to change your ps2 id with Paradox Console IDChanger.

That makes sense. I used that WinDIP app to patch my iso. So using my iso I could possibly get banned?

Yes if someone online is using the same DNAS ID as you, it doesn't matter if your running it from the original disc at all the server takes into account the first person who used that DNAS ID that's why it's better to patch the iso with the DNAS ID from your original copy rather than using a DNAS ID from a online list and just changing the XX XX digits.

That makes sense. I'm just trying to figure out some things before I make the decision to create an account or not.

I followed this guide from an online blog. I won't post the entire guide here but here's the part where Windip came in

32 bit users need to get winpcap
then use WinDIP in the pcsx2 rar, select the outbreak iso, press the scan file, then verify version.
                              5. Enter your Disc ID in to the 5 boxes (file 1 is Disc ID: 00 00 04 20 E4)
                              (file 2 Disc ID = 00 00 02 10 AC)
                              6. Hit patch
I used that ID for my File 1. Shall I re-patch and try another ID?

I would you want an ID that is unique to you not one that has been given out over a website that multiple people have tried using at one point or another.
You can get the ID off you disc using this http://www.sksapps.com/index.php?page=dnas.html
