I'd say vote for Outbreak support. If this is even a chance of bringing the series back, especially to take use of the power of the online services on consoles/pc, then by far I will route for that. What is one E-Reward going to do, offer more hits? Nothing huge, I am rather supportive to let Outbreak get the crown for this so Capcom have a huge incentive to give it another boot. The game was way ahead of its time.

It's not about the rewards, it's about the recognition that the work behind PU and Biohaze is being appreciated outside of their own respective communities.

It's all very well assuming you're appreciated, but having something to back that up makes it all the more worthwhile.

That is true; recognition for hard work, both from the staff and community goes a long way but shouldn't people already know this? I just think nothing by these kind of things and personally appreciate what the others do behind the scenes. But at least over at Unity, fans point out at sites that should be nominated (THIA, Biohaze, PU) as listed so that's a nice thing to have. I still hope though if Outbreak wins that it pushes for another Outbreak game in the works.

If I understand correctly the poll was for fan creations (snowman, painting or mashed potato sculpture or whatever), and this is the web-site subcategory.

With this understanding, I voted PU.

Like i said, i'm doubtful. These "awards" will most likely be forgotten by Capcom within a few weeks anyway so i doubt it will be that impactful on the campaign for a new Outbreak anyway.

Also, i would trust that whoever runs Support Outbreak isn't deluded enough to believe that their site is actually better than either of the competitors and it's only being voted for out of support for a new Outbreak game and nothing more.

I remember the times when Outbreak came out. It was the time when every time a "multiplayer online" game was mentioned on any RE forum, the "fans" would scoff and say "multiplayer is for lifeless nerds" among other excuses such as people raging. So it wasnt as much of a failed experiment, as it was a game delivered to a juvenile (not average age, just average mindset) and not yet ready audience. I dont think CAPCOM is able to deliver the greatest survival horror COOP online MP (should just fine a shorter version of all of it, haha) of all times, not even a very good one, but they have two games under their belt now and RE5 at least proved to be a very entertaining COOP game. I doubt its even going to be an "oldie", as you would put it. I dont have much respect for CAPCOM these days, so I do think the next Outbreak would be the "new" version, Ganados, lots of explosions, Horde mode. Proven crap like that.

But the mere chance that it might be built (around puzzles and individual exploration for a common goal, with final team vs boss battle at each level) like Outbreak 1&2 is worth a vote on some silly and stupid contest with 3 candidates, not even nominated by CAPCOM.

New Resident Evil games will come along, we know that, so i'd rather something like this be used to give props to the likes of PU or Biohaze who work throughout the year to provide THE ENTIRE community with great content, and not just a glorified list of demands of demands.
The thing is. The "props" these sites will receive from there are worth very little. Around 300 people have voted (less, even), nominees arent selected by CAPCOM, and anyone can vote (less work per vote = less value per vote and certainly less credibility).

And even if the selection was legit, the respect given by CAPCOM themselves, I would still have voted for a chance for a great COOP game for this community, rather than to stroke the webmasters and communities egos, which is fickle anyway, and will wear off in less than a week (and will unfortunately become ammunition incase people get into site vs site arguments).

Vote with your mind, not your heart, comeon, you can do eet.

[EDIT] And just as I was finishing this post, I saw a comment in the vote page which would NOT put THIA in a nice light.

Do you mean my comment on there? I'm off out for a couple of hours so i've deleted it just in case. Wasn't that bad though, just pointing out to Michael that Capcom didn't choose the nominees and that he should've seen my reply on here first?

See, i don't agree. I ran a fansite for a band once, through this site i was travelling all over the UK, a bit of the US, attending awards ceremonies, getting shout outs at gigs in front of over 1,000 people...but none of this meant as much to me as when i'd get a random email from just one person telling me how much they liked the work i was putting in.

Perhaps i'm too sentimental myself, but i'm sure the guys at PU and Biohaze might feel the same.

Too late, Biohaze got my vote instantly.

The problem is. Its not an email. Its an anonymous vote done by clicking your mouse twice. I would put a well expressed gratitude and compliment from a fan at a higher level than, what can essentially be described as, a forum poll. Because technically, thats exactly what it is.

I would completely agree with you (still vote for Outbreak, though) if the nominees were selected by CAPCOM themselves and the winners site got something which would really help it out.

I'm one of those who want the Outbreak series back but, ehi my vote goes to Biohaze, obviously! =P
It's a shame THIA is not in the list though (I guess no one from the THIA staff submitted the site), I would have liked to see a genuine fight between 3 of the currently best and most devoted RE fansites on the net: Biohaze, THIA and PU.

Honestly I have no problem with Support Oubreak winning the contest, I mean this is just a contest guys... at the end of the day THIA, PU, REfan and Biohaze have their own (and well deserved) space on the RE.com portal, Capcom already knows the true communities which are devoted to Resident Evil.
Plus, with supportoutbreak as winner we might have one more chance to get the Outbreak series (aka old school style) revived, which is not totally a bad thing, or not?

I'd vote for Project Umbrella, I think they're the most informative, even if it borders on copyright violation.

It's not Capcom who chose them, for example, I sent them Biohaze.

It's interesting the phenomenon with the outbreak community, I believe they think that if they get their site on top they will get a new outbreak. Why? Because they are doing the same thing with the suggestion box: http://www.capcom-unity.com/go/suggestion/box (click games category)

They're probably doing the same thing with the suggestion box because of this:
                            s-kill:
This is just a Beta, but if it has problems, suggest improvements by using the Suggestion Box. For everything else, the sky is the limit. Resident Evil Outbreak crew, I'm looking at you. Powerstone 3 people? Yes, this is your chance. Mega Man Legends lovers? Your time is at hand! Let us know what's what.
Bad move Seth Killian, you are kamikaze ahaha
