    you can use the include program to enable and disable 3G easily although you can just edit the boot.ini.
    PlopPlop have you looking through the various settings in Windows Media Player?
    Do you think WM Player may be blocking or that I may be able to alter the wave sound volume from there?

    Well I think I'm just about ready to give up on Resi 1 PC and play the PSX version on ePSXe !!!

    Whatever I do just seems to make it worse!!!

      Capcom are so quick to pedal out ports and re-releases on the console market, wouldn't be that hard for them to fix them up and release them fully working on Steam would it?

        It sure would not no, I for one would re-purchase them all without even any remastering gone on, just fully compatable with modern systems would be good enough for me.

        Save double posting!!!

        I've just tried Resident Evil 2 (Original Big Box UK Retail), from the disc withought installing anything and it all worked except the FMV, but I know this is because I didn't install the Indeo codec thingy, if I get around to playing it propperly I'll install everything and No CD it.

            Had a look at Windows Media Player and it didn't help.

            What I should have said was I'll give up on trying to get Resi working on Win 7 and just play it on XP where I should have a much better chance!

              why dont you use a emulator like epsxe for playstation 1 you will be able to play resident evil directors cut and resident evil 2 and resident evil 3

              or you could get a ps2 emulator for resident evil code veronica and the outbreaks and also dead aim.

                Yeeeeah...Emulation is a sure fire way to get yourself kicked off the forum usually, best to keep away from it.

                  Any form of admitting to piracy/ any piracy is against the rules here and the standard infraction results in a month ban, so the emulation topic should get dropped really, even for old games.

                        YAY finally got it running with sound again! BUT! Had to revert to XP and install it on that?

                        Runs FAR too fast so I'll have to try the speed patch now!

                            Nope, in game the options are fur controls, NOTHING else, in the setup on the desktop you have a choice of 5 different graphics cards and the only option for them is to set the res at 640 x 480, for all 5 cards, that's it?

                              You might be able to override it with a d3d?.INI file but I can't remember what version of DirectX it uses.

                              This a version for DirectX9

                              // Forces alpha to coverage instead of alpha test
                              ForceAlphaToCoverage = 1

                              // 0 = Don't force a backbuffer format. Any other value is interpreted as a D3DFORMAT value.
                              // A2R10G10B10 = 35
                              // A8R8G8B8 = 21
                              // X8R8G8B8 = 22
                              // A1R5G5B5 = 25
                              // X1R5G5B5 = 24
                              // R5G6B5 = 23
                              ForceBackBufferFormat = 0

                              // 0 = Don't force a DepthStencil format. Any other value is interpreted as a D3DFORMAT value.
                              // D24S8 = 75
                              // D24X8 = 77
                              // D16 = 80
                              ForceDepthStencilFormat = 0

                              // 0 = Don't force any FSAA mode, any other number indicates number of samples, for instance 2, 4 or 6.
                              ForceMSAAMode = 0

                              // 0 = Don't force resolution. If both are set, the indicated resolution will be enforced.
                              ForceWidth = 1024
                              ForceHeight = 768
                              If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

                                I'll have to give that a go, see if I can bump the resolution up a bit.
