you know how on the PS Store they have resident evil 1 for download
and then i think they was gonna upload resident evil 2 and 3 unless it was just with a Japanese account. do you guys think that xbox live will ever have resident evil 1,2 or 3 for download since its not owned by sony(which im pretty sure about)?

There's absolutely NOTHING to stop Capcom from putting them out on XBLA...but if it was going to happen i'd have thought it would've by now.

I just don't think it will go to X Box. Just a feeling I have. I could be wrong.

If they put them on XBL they'd need to run on a PSX emulator. As I believe these are not just ports but actually ISOs of the games so they most likely run on an emulator on the PS3. If that makes any sense?

im thinking that maybe there waiting to get us ready for resident evil 6 you know like if there is gonna be like sherry or another character they havent used in awhile then they gonna let us refresh our memories or something like they did for resident evil 5 on the ps3 they let resident evil 1 be downloadable because chris and jill was in it

but this is all my opinion so idk if it will happen

Would probably be far easier to port across the PC versions i'd imagine.

The RE2 PC version is very popular with modifications, just check out "Dark Biohazard". RE1 I don't know much about it, other than that it exists lol. RE1 is also the only one I bought from the PSN, but I'll probably buy the others to transfer to my PSP.

If that is the reality then it makes perfect sense as to why they haven't appeared on the 360 as of yet.

Yes, wasn't this the case with the Dreamcast versions of RE2&3? I heard the PC versions got ported over because the Dreamcast is powered by Windows CE which made it easier and it would also explain why the Dreamcast versions have the extra features also present in the PC versions that were not present in the later Gamecube releases. I believe the Gamecube versions were revamped versions of the PSX originals.

Is it possible? Yes it is.
Size is no longer a limitation, we have arcade games that go up to GBs, and there have been ports of PSX games (Castlevania: SOTN?)...
My guess of why it hasn't happened is that X360 is not that popular on japan, or maybe Sony has a deal with Capcom to avoid ports of the classic games... Who knows?

I would love the classics with achievements... .

Xbox LIVE Arcade introduced a bit of a rule at one point that prevents publishers from releasing direct ports of retro games on XBLA (Sony has a bit of a similar thing for late ports to the PS3 + has had various forms for hatred towards things such as 2D graphics in the past on the PS1, PS2 and PSP)

The only pure phony ports (ie. emulators pretending to be ports) to've come on XBLA after MS' rule change have been some of Sega's Genesis/Mega Drive titles. Not sure how they dodged it... If it's 'cause they got the green flag ages ago or if it's 'cause they use filthy use of state saves to fake their emulated origin (that's why you can't have the full Sonic 3 menu, by the way ;D)

Anyway, as far as doing classic Resident Evil titles on XBLA goes... to Capcom it'd be a piece of piss. They'd just have to get a tiny team on the job. A lot of the XBLA games are based off of Dreamcast and Naomi games, so there's probably a one click port-o-tron compiler somewhere that does most of the dirty work for people. They surely have all their assets available too - so it's not like they'd have to rebuild anything from scratch and no need to rely on emulation.
