Hell, even a couple new weapons in the form of the Ada's crossbow and sawed off shotgun.

Alright, children. No internet tough guys, no being rude. No exploding over personal opinions. Every time you people do this crap, one of my brain cells dies. When I started moderating I had an IQ of over 9000!!! Now I'm almost down to the same level as you folks. So stop it.

Anyways, I suppose this matter is done with, so I'm done with this, for fear of incurring Darkmoon's wrath(and further loss of his IQ points)

Well I just still don´t know what to think of Desperate Escape. It seems fun, but Veteran was quite frustrating I must say and I really don´t know how the hell someone is supposed to make it on professional... I´m gonna need a good player to assist me. I loved the fact that the other executioner shows up in the game, I find him extremly scary and hard to defeat. I think DE would have been better without the rocket-turret guys, that is super annoying. The level design reminds me of the island in RE4, it seems too crowded though.
I have a little RE5 party tonight at my place and I´ll be splitscreen testing this with a friend that can play quite well and I am thrilled to try out the new characters of merc-reunion.
I tried Heavy Metal Chris... he is annoying as hell, lol. Business Sheva got me a SS on my solo run in public assembly.

I like DE a lot more than LiN. Surpising given I prefer the older games and I'm not really a fan of the new Jill look and prefer her as a soldier type (yeah I know my avatar but I just wanted to use a hidden moment).
LiN was fun for the me the first two times through but after that replaying it quickly became boring, there is just a whole lot of nothing for most of it.
DE delivers entertainment non stop start to finish every time, but more importantly it is actually challenging. I've ran through LiN Pro with an AI partner a few times, not even using weapons at all and still manage it without deaths.
DE however actually killed me a good number of times, even on Vet. I've not even tried Pro yet, waiting for my partner to do that with.
I don't know why people complaining about the gunners, I just shot them, though I did get killed by one while distracted fighting a boss. I just fought him out of line of sight next time.Beanovsky Durst - "They are not pervs. They are japanese."

While Desperate Escape is fun enough, I'm in the same boat as some people that the Mercs additions are altogether the winners of this package. I think Josh is going to be one of my primary characters along with Folklore, Barry, and Excella.
Plus I never got to beat it; Veteran on the roof I've yet to be able to clear. It was one frustrating, out of the blue death after another, and I just couldn't take it. Stuff such as making a break from a chainsaw majini and then getting stuck by other running enemies that happen to make the dash at the time. Horrible timing of things. So I guess one can make the excuse that I suck injects a bias. Nonetheless I plan to do the entire thing over on Veteran, and possibly even pro.
The rocket turrets never seemed like a problem to me. They would either miss frequently or in the event that they'd hit, minuscule damage and a knockdown would only follow.

Just completed Desperate Escape. It's pretty good, just a couple of small niggles that brought it down a couple of notches. Mainly the complete absense of the cover system and the recycled enemies such as the executioner and the loud speaker guys.
That said it's fun and an extension of the main game, where LiN tried to do something different this embraced the relentlessness.
Interesting bit of trivia, Josh and Jill are clearly not motion captured in the DE opening, where I think Chris and Jill were in LiN, hinting at perhaps that DE was more of an after thought than LiN was - I know LiN was originally meant to be playable but I wonder if DE was something they've thought of since release?
Also I'm wondering if the Dock area you fight in in DE was actually a 'bridging' level between 5-3 and 6-1 of the main game? I've always though it a little odd how the game just jumps location like it does, where as the continuity of the main game is a little more clearer (aside from I think one moment in the middle).http://www.projectumbrella.net The BIOHAZARD/RESIDENT EVIL Compendium

Spoiler:
After you shoot down the last door, the block in the middle has the cover action on the corners
No clue about any possible original intents/purpose for the area, but the jump is kinda rough in the main game, yeah.
In the future, or an alternate reality, I still hope that something like "Lost in Nightmares" could be done as a stand alone demo of the main game (evt. XBLA/PSN?). It kinda seems like the 360 exclusive Case Zero for Dead Rising 2 might act as something like this. Either way, it would've worked as a nice setup for the whole "Jill is dead?" part of the plot.

Never again will I ever play Desperate Escape on professional, after finishing this game in some of the most tense seconds I’ve ever experienced in that difficulty setting. Me and Canas was just praying for a bloody miracle in the final 10 that we would kick ass and take names without having the fatal blow upon us!
Both of us A rank first time through. Oh god.

Just played through with Zombie Fred on Professional to get the achievement.
Never. Again.
Spoiler:
We actually did pretty well up until the finale. Holy fuck.
It was intense, oh so intense. We used two rocket launchers on the two Red Executioners that showed up, and the sniper rifle and magnum on the Reapers. And we found one cool little detail.
In the final cutscene, it appears there are either multiple versions or, as it's done in real-time, the enemies in the cutscene are randomized. The first time we went through on normal to get the S rank for Zombie Fred, then when we went through on Professional, I noticed that the Majini that fires the rocket and kills Doug was a different Majini. Instead of the one with corn rows and red eyes, it was a dude with yellow-ish eyes and a beret. And the one Doug shoots down where the camera follows in first-person as he dies was different too. Kinda cool.
I'll stick to Normal and Veteran, thank you.
