I think I was 6 or 7, and my sister was addicted to resident evil 2 and I watched her play it all the time.
I played mario, contra, and tmnt for the nes before I played re2 (which was my first ps1 game). I'm not sure if we had RE1 first or not first but, I know we had the directors cut at one time.
So yeah, RE2 was my first RE and ps1 game. RE3 is good but I never liked it as much.
haha, I didn't know about the 2nd scenario until I was 12, haha good times.

I was about 12 can't quite remember. But I was at this store in Honolulu called rainbow books and I had $15 and I was looking at the games. My dad was pointing out all these games that I thought sounded kind of stupid. The title Resident Evil stuck out, it just sounded so cool to me. So I got it and took it home.

I started playing and damn did I nearly shit myself several times, it was the directors cut. I also had no memory card, so I got used to playing the mansion over and over since other people would want the tv. Great memories. I still play that game to this day.

My dad would play the first Resident Evil for us when we went to his house on the weekends. He didn't have a memory card, so he had to start from the beginning every time he died. I must have seen the game up to the boulder's part at least 20 times before he finally got past it lol. And then neither of us could figure out how to open the stupid books. It was a lot of fun for my brothers and I to watch him play.

After a while I took a whack at the games and found them to be very fun. My dad has stopped playing the series since RE4 (the controls are too complicated for him) but I've continued to play it and have played almost every game in the series to completion except for the second Gun Survivor (the Code: Veronica spinoff one).

My brother got RE1 for PSX and I started watching him play it. It was "love at first sight". From that moment on, RE became some kind of obsession, I made all my cousins play it (some of them can even listen to the name RESIDENT EVIL today because I really pissed them off at that time, I couldn't stop talking and playing RE, come on, I was a child!). I had my own RE fan-club and soon after my own RE fansite for almost 9 years (very popular in Brazil).
The site has been closed but I still work on RE stuff, I keep my RE collection and always play the games. RE's changed my life. I met my fiancé at the time I owned the fansite, we met at the Forums a few years ago. It's great to have someone who loves the same things you love.
