  • Dark Biohazard News?

Hi, I've been a bit busy so my online stuff has kind of had to be pushed to one side so I've missed a lot.

I was wondering if there has been any news about Dark Biohazard apart from the update in November '09? Interviews? Or anything like that.

    Thanks very much.

i have an odd question, will the text be muted and only subtitles would be used or will fans be brought in to do the voices of new characters and leon?

I believe there are meant to be new voices.

Very interesting. Will this be playable on consoles or the PC? Also the last update was November of last year. Has this project been put on hold? And does anyone know if they are improving the graphics?

                    @5 Minutes:

It will not be for consoles, PC only. I don't know the status of the project, c2keo would be able to answer that. They will not be improving the graphics, it will use the Resident Evil 2 engine. What really has me worried now is that a couple weeks ago I tried to email the team using contact@darkbiohazard.com and a couple hours later I received the following message from the postmaster which reads:

                    Delivery Status Notification (Delay)‏

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. THIS IS A WARNING MESSAGE ONLY. YOU DO NOT NEED TO RESEND YOUR MESSAGE. Delivery to the following recipients has been delayed. contact@darkbiohazard.com

A day later I received another message from the postmaster:

                    Delivery Status Notification (Failure)‏

This is an automatically generated Delivery Status Notification. Unable to deliver message to the following recipients, due to being unable to connect successfully to the destination mail server. contact@darkbiohazard.com

                    That's bad news.

Thanks for addressing my questions. Those emails are a let down. Hopefully, it's a temporary issue. Perhaps my speculations are correct...

Yeah. At this point, even I'm not sure what's happening. It's a bit worrying, must be said.

But even if DK is released or finished, isnt that illegal.
                          Because of reverse Engenering ?

I dont think DK will see the Day of light.

It is one of those grey areas. As far as I recall none of the RE pc games have had an EULA which states not to reverse engineer things. Plenty of people mod other games and have not run into trouble, the only instance I can think of where people did was with Team Ninja and the DOA:XBV. Even worse is people who steal content from one game and port it to G-Mod or another game as that could be considered theft.

The way you have to look at it is that Dark Biohazard will require the player to own a full copy of Resident Evil 2 to be able to play the game. Its also non profit mod, non commercial. So if Capcom were to re-re-re-release RE2 on the PC, they would profit from it.

I've modded, reversed engineered RE1, 2 and 3 for years and never have Capcom sent a cease and desist. If they ever did I would comply with their wishes.

Technically, if tried in a court of law, the EULAs and TOCs wont hold water in most cases. However, one's intentions and other (unlawful) actions may.
