And yeah, you put the other eagle emblem in the place next to the room where you first see the metal detector, near the beginning of the game. It's the execution part with the blood spattered all over the head-cut-off thing (can't remember the name now). You put the eagle emblem in the door and the blade drops down, and something falls from it (a key I think).
The guillotine a device used for carrying out executions by decapitation.

There's no reset game option either.
Ya, mine has no reset option either, but it should still be possible to reset by pressing something like Start+A+B+X all at the same time.

My biggest gripe with any PAL version of CODE: Veronica is that none have the option for 60Hz. I'm very tempted to import an NTSC copy of the game on some platform, maybe the ps2 since I don't have it on that yet.

I remember when I killed nosferatu and when I became Chris I quit playing, too impossible. I didn't leave any weapons. I beat it two years later and it was way easier.

I found Code Veronica such a letdown.

It went fully 3D but it cost the game so much I don't think it was worth it. There were other things that really were lacking for no reason.

            - Only one default difficulty rating

            - No free stairs movement like in RE3.

            - Lack of details in environments, pre-rendered backdrops were very detailed, most of CV environments are very plain and dull.

            - Slow paced movement.

            - Zombies/enemies were 'solid', can't blow pieces off zombies not even just their heads, they remained intact no matter what.

            - Fogging was used, which just makes everything dull

            - Use the handgun too much, you get so much handgun ammo it is unreal, the other weapons kind of sucked too mostly, especially the shotgun which was weak as hell. I think there are only 18 Magnum rounds in the game also, including the ones found in the gun.

            - Nothing to unlock except the Rocket Launcher which if I remember right cannot even kill a cerberus unless it jumps up high into the rocket. No infinite ammo, no alternate costumes (despite Claire having an alternate in the Battlemode).

            - No alternative paths/events like in RE3, no alternate campaigns like in RE1/2. No alternate endings.

            - Battlemode sucked, infinite ammo/time and all.

            - Possible to trap the player in a way so that not possible to continue, requiring a game restart.

            Yeah, I wasn't impressed.

About the difficulty there's an action replay code that unlocks a hidden very easy, easy, and normal difficulty options, i'm guessing they where from the biohazard version what with them making it easier for them.

In the Japanese version of CODE: Veronica, there were "Very Easy" and "Easy" difficulty options as well as the normal ones. It seems this must have been taken out in CV:X. Some benefits were the continue facility and the added side-quest when you become Chris though, in having to get the serum for Claire. I remember having the issue before with Claire being poisoned after the Nosferatu battle and having no blue herbs.

Ultimately though, the gameplay faults outweigh the benefits (the first game to be able to use a herb without actually having to pick it up, continues, etc, against the clunky overall feel of the game, lack of evade function, having to press buttons to go up stairs, the "traps" of the game).

Kevstah, is it CODE: Veronica you're playing or CODE: Veronica X? If it's CV, I would really invest in a blue herb before fighting Nosferatu and leave it in Claire's inventory for after the switch.

Blue herb will not help against Alexanders poison (you don't take control of Claire until she is cured for one thing plus blue herb has no effect).

If Claire gets poisoned Chris needs go get the serum, it is possible to not get poisoned though.

That is only in CODE: Veronica X, not CODE: Veronica, as far as I am aware.

Could be Correct; Code Veronica (not Code Veronica X) allows to use the blue herb to cure. That was changed in the extenstion version, but I am sure kevstah2004 is playing the original? Not too sure on this one.
EDIT: Actually got it mixed up with something else. Can't happen.

I've played both versions and you can't be cured with a blue herb if you've been poisoned by Nosferatu.

Thanks for correcting, I thought it was different in Code Veronica. Look like KylieDog is right
UPDATE: Yup, correct. Same rules follow on being poisoned by Alexander in Code Veronica just as in X.

X version, kinda dissapointed they didn't include the re2 claire and Elza looking Claire clothes along with clothes ripping seems the toned down the enemy count too, I don't remeber killing spiders being in the palace section.
