  • Biohazard 2 Beta 2 Unlocked Debug Menu?

    Hey, I've found this page on the web: http://oldgamehacking.blogspot.com/2...ebug-menu.html, and it shows some gameshark codes to unlock the debug menu! Can some one confirm that? For those who are afraid to click a new user's link, here's what the page shows:

    Spoiler:

      Doesn't unlock anything as far as I know these are Upaluppa's codes where he just modded the text to say something different or blank out the unusable options just leaving the room warp option.

      Dark Biohazard found this new stuff from the bh2 trial though http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LF-U3P8rdM

        By the way, speaking of that, someone people have recently been trying to trade/sell a shitty demo hack as a supposed prototype build. Just a general heads up.

          What about the memory editor? It isn't from the beta then?

          And has someone managed to unlock the debug menu yet, or it is just impossible (like options pointing to features that are not present on the disc, like a blank slot or something)?

            Beta 2 has been gone over a few times by various people I don't think anyone found anything extra, i've been through the various labels is asm and I can't find any refrences to unlock anything that we don't already do by the button combos that isn't to say the data is or isn't there i'm no asm expert and only have a basic understanding of it anyway so i've probably overlooked loads, the person to get in contact with things like this would be lee4 as he has hacked many things for the various games.
            The memory editor is just either gameshark or action replay pro being used to hack the codes.

              There are no debug menu functions in the beta 2 other than the Jump option...
              I have extensively tried to hack anything hidden out of the debug menu and believe me, there really isn't anything you could possibly do with it.

              The chances of finding any hidden debug options in the beta 2 are quite low from what I have seen (in the RAM) so far.

              I did some research on it, but all I found where things which can be activated with button combos anyways:

              Modify Debug Menu Options:

              Debug Menu Option 1
              300105E8 00XX
              300105E9 00YY
              Debug Menu Option 2
              300105EC 00XX
              300105ED 00YY
              Debug Menu Option 3
              300105F0 00XX
              300105F1 00YY
              Debug Menu Option 4
              300105F4 00XX
              300105F5 00YY
              Debug Menu Option 5
              300105F8 00XX
              300105F9 00YY
              Debug Menu Option 6
              300105FC 00XX
              300105FD 00YY
              Debug Menu Option 7
              30010600 00XX
              30010601 00YY

              Replace XX/YY with to get the desired effect:

              Nothing happens:
              XX = 10
              YY = 3B

              Can't choose anything, cursor always remains on the first option:
              XX = 3B
              YY = 36

              Freeze without menu:
              XX = A4
              YY = 35

              JUMP with Square and can choose ROOM:
              XX = A4
              YY = 36

              Scrolls backwards through the rooms (automatically):
              XX = A4
              YY = 37

              Can only scroll backwards through rooms:
              XX = A4
              YY = 38

              "Activate" disabled options with Square:
              XX = A4
              YY = 39

              Teleport with Square but can't choose room:
              XX = A4
              YY = 3A

              Freeze with menu:
              XX = A4
              YY = 3B

              Debug Menu Graphical Mods:

              Debug Menu Graphics
              30010804 00XX
              30010805 00YY
              30010806 00ZZ

              Replace XX/YY/ZZ with to get the desired effect:

              Normal:
              XX = 24
              YY = FD
              ZZ = 02

              Blue Letters:
              XX = 2C
              YY = FD
              ZZ = 02

              Numbers go crazy:
              XX = 1C
              YY = FD
              ZZ = 02

              Timer goes crazy:
              XX = A8
              YY = FF
              ZZ = 02

              Numbers go crazy:
              XX = EC
              YY = FC
              ZZ = 02

              Hexadecimal Timer (Small Letters):
              XX = 38
              YY = FF
              ZZ = 02

              Hexadecimal Timer (Large Letters):
              XX = 40
              YY = FF
              ZZ = 02

              RPD PC Menu:
              XX = EC
              YY = 56
              ZZ = 02

              Standby (Black Screen):
              XX = D0
              YY = 55
              ZZ = 02

              Empty Debug Menu:
              XX = 84
              YY = 56
              ZZ = 02

              Empty Debug Menu:
              XX = B4
              YY = 56
              ZZ = 02

              Reload Current Room:
              XX = 4C
              YY = 53
              ZZ = 02

              Debug Activators:

              Debug Menu ON
              300C24EE 0040

              Debug Menu OFF
              300C24EE 0000

              Weapon Mugen ON
              300C6DB8 00FF
              300C6DB9 00FF
              300C6DBA 00FF
              300C6DBB 00FF

              Weapon Mugen OFF
              300C6DB8 0000
              300C6DB9 0020
              300C6DBA 0004
              300C6DBB 0000

              Map Debug ON
              300C6F08 0001

              Map Debug OFF
              300C6F08 0000

              If I were to look for hidden debug stuff I'd check out the Trial Edition or the Preview! They have some debug stuff that's no longer found in beta 2 for sure:
              (The Memory Viewer turns on by itself if you hack any partner character into one of the RDT's of the Trial Edition/Preview)

              Speaking of demos, there's always a lot of fancy stuff hidden in them, just look at those Biohazard 1.9 save files I have created by hacking the Nemesis Trial:
              (No, these are not photoshopped, they are real! I just never posted about them before because I didn't think it was that important)

              Edit:
              Ok, those 1.9 saves were a bad example as the same hack I used on the Nemesis Trial should also work on any other version of the game!
              The Nemesis Trial was compiled after the final release of Last Escape after all...

              I can't think of any other examples right now, but I guess I gave you the idea.

                    These codes don't do anything but warp and/or crash the game. If that image is real, it has to either be from a hack we don't know about, or the beta 1 build...

                    Either that or it's from some application that has nothing to do with RE lol...

                      GameShark / Action Replay Pro always pissed me off they didn't include the debugger with CDX but I guess you need the parallel expansion port to utilise extra memory for the ram dumps, you see GSPro has a memory chip that temporarily stores the ram whilst you search and I guess that couldn't be done through the memory card interface it did include the serial cable though to allow to search for codes via your pc on cdxutils. GSPro also overrides the BIOS
                      If he had a brain, he'd be dangerous.

                            Thought as much! Didn't think it was possible for an image like that to slip by people if it can from RE2 lol...
