^I made the very same complaint, at this very same forum, when I bought the PAL RE4 Wii version.
For some obscene reason Capcom kept it a secret. Nowhere on the box or in the manual does it tell you that you can or how to play with a GC controller!
Start the game with the nunchuck unplugged. When the screen appears telling you to plug in the nunchuck, plug in the GC controller into port 1 instead, then press the A button on the GC controller.
The butchered music doesn't bother you? I love the music from the original so I really hate that version.

Don't think anything was really changed in the PAL version. On the GC, there were like a billion different versions of RE4 (like how the German one doesn't have Mercenaries and stuff, iirc)
I dunno if anyone's bothered to confirm it or not, but the thing about a higher resolution in the PAL version might just stem from the fact that a PAL SD output (in general) is of a higher resolution than an NTSC SD output (720x576 vs 720x480). To my knowledge, there haven't been (m)any games taking actual advantage of the higher display output on PAL machines, so they've remained at whatever native res they have (normally 640x480 or 576x438, iirc)
The progressive output on the Wii is on a system level locked to 720x480, iirc, which makes me doubt that the PAL version runs at a higher resolution (unless it for some weird reason does it in 576i )

CODE: Veronica pisses me off for this reason, out of the 3 different versions available in PAL territory's, not one has a 60Hz option.Last edited by Vixtro; 09-09-2010, 11:08 AM.

For the best FMV's it has to be Bio2DC and Bio0Wii. Both of those games have nice looking videos. The sourceNext versions also have great FMV's.

I just got a DSi XL so naturally the 1st game I picked up was Resident Evil: Deadly Silence.
I prefer this "port" because:
-No butchered music (think Directors Cut)
-Better controls. The knife controls now works like RE5/RE4.
-Co-op Merc/vs mode
-DS features that utilize the touch screen
-Portability. I'm not 11 years old staying at home after school anymore. It's nice how I can relive the mansion experience while I'm on break at work.
-Rebirth mode. More enemies/ammo = more action. While I'm not saying that's a good thing, it's just nice to have if you want variety. Classic mode is in there as well.
Only con with it is the compression on the cutscenes. Yuck.REALDEMO

And to those who hate the DC DS music, I have to say I love it.
