I also woudn't mind bringing back the virus gauge from the Outbreak games. Only this time, instead of getting infected from the virus from the very beginning with no explanation why, you'll only get infected with from certain types of attacks from special kinds of B.O.W., or introduce a new element of an interactive cut-scene that deals with pressing a button on the contoller to avoid getting attacked resulting in an infection of the virus.

If you happen to unfortunely get infected, you can spend the reminder of the game finding and taking some kind of antidote that only temporarely halts the infection for a brief period of time. Until you get to a point in the game where you're automatically get put into a side-quest where you'll have to cure yourself of the virus permermently. If the virus-gauge reached up to, let's say, 300% (since I picture the game's storyline as being a very long quest of some sort), you'll get treated to a special Game-Over cutscene showing the player-character (Claire Redfield as how I picture as the game's protagonist) succumbing to the effects of the virus and becoming a zombie.

I wouldn't mind it, as long as it didn't act as fast as in Outbreak, if it only went up faster to repeat exposure from being hit by the enemies then sure, I certainly wouldn't mind it as it could help open up multiple endings to come back to the series.

I think the next installment should be stand alone. Just start with with the protagonist washing up to shore on a beach. The cruise ship the protagonist was on is in shambles on the beach. Bodies litter the ground. The PC walks around looking for their family and finds evidence that a group of survivors fled into the jungle hugging the beach. The PC then follows suit and stumbles upon a city in ruins by the t-virus. With little help from other survivors he must piece together where his family is and find out what happened to the city.

Personally, I wouldn't mind Claire or maybe even Ark Thompson being the main protagonist. I'd also like Capcom to make an A/B storyline like in Resident Evil 2.

Just don't make it 3D, please.

I'd like to see the story carry on with where they where going in Lost In Nightmares. I definatley think Spencer had a plan and he intentionally wanted to die to be "Reborn". If they want to reboot the series I am all for it however I'd like to see one last game with the current characters. Possibly a bunch of short stories like Lin and DE. Each story wraps up the characters we have come to know. For example one story would be Chris and Jill another Leon and Claire, Billy and Rebbeca. I just think there is to much left up in the air to reboot at this time.

If Mega Man can go up to 10(8bit), why couldn't Resident Evil? I really thought that Resident Evil 5 gave the series more life in a way that shows you can do a lot with Resident Evil and people will like it

I think crimson heads should be present for that, but not every zombie can be super fast and aggressive. The series' mainstay has always been the "classic" zombie, and I'd love to see them return.

As for not ripping off of Left 4 Dead, why not? L4D ripped off of RE big time! Hunters, smokers (aka lickers), Zoey being a complete Claire ripoff... I could go on. But still, L4D isn't scary or creepy like RE is; it's an action game. A cheesy one, at that. How can anyone take the boomer seriously, anyway?

Ugh, I hope not. I loved the Outbreak games, but I hated being rushed through them due to that virus gauge.
                Mass production? Ridiculous!

Something with Barry, I wanna see him kick ass old school style, I guess he would need play side character to Jill.

The multiple endings part is a good idea too. I mean already happened with Resident Evil (PS), Resident Evil (Gamecube Remake), Resident Evil Outbreak and Outbreak File #2, and Darkside Chronicles "Operation: Javier" chapter. Why stop there?

I also envision the virus gauge the same way Enetirnel. Otherwise it might be too hard and the gamer would end up seething with rage that s/he will do something that would make James "The Angry Video-Game Nerd" Rolfe go: "Whoa dude, just chill out!!!".

That's a good point, I'd never thought of that. Plus I heavily agree with you about Zoey being a Claire Redfield look alike. Right down to the college student part. (Which is pretty much the only reason why I play as her, 'cause she's my favourite character of the L4D series )

True, that particular "special infected" zombie always reminded me of Preston Lacy from MTV's Jackass series.

True it the virus can sometimes can be a pain in the arse. But it doesn't really bother me that much.

Yeah, also technically with 2 and 3 as well.
I prefer the multiple endings so you can have a bit of variety, I wouldn't mind having the Quick Choice thing they had in 3 back either (say, you have the option to go along an easy path OR take a harder path... you'd need to backtrack and if you took the easy path, coming back you would end up with a group of difficult enemies or something. For example, survivors in the R.P.D. if you chose to go outside via the car park, it would fill the area up with zombies later on that were in various stages of V-Acts) just to make it harder and that the player really does need to think about their choices instead of either choice leading to a tiny variation of the path (such as 3 - Nemesis being slowed down at the Newspaper office OR that he can still hang around after you've jumped out of the window).

                        That's pretty much my opinion of it, that going up far too quickly and the sudden nerve gas drops in the Outbreak did get a tad annoying when hiding in a locker with a room full of zombies, the gas hits and the medicine wore off and bumped the gauge up too quickly. ;

As for L4D, I've played as Zoey for the same reason (though I have RE character models across VALVe games so... XD).

Anyway, I would prefer a mix of classic and fast ones (considering that we don't really see the entire V-Acts process on-screen, I think it would be interesting to see some more of the enemies undergo a similar transformation though only depending on them. A Hunter would seem to be more likely to mutate further than a Cerberus) so there could be a bit more variety, but also make the player think a bit more. I for one, thought the Queen Licker was interesting with the other Lickers' guarding as a general example of what I'm meaning.

RE4 and especially RE5 were action games. And pretty cheesy as well...

I would love to see the next game have Rebecca Chambers as the lead.

Unlikely, but yes I would also love to see this, maybe if she was a few years older too (say 5) that way she would be more pro like Jill. Just think of the options..
