Resident Evil 6?

For characters, I'd like to see old and new, similar to what every game in the series (excluding the original, of course) has done. Going with all new characters is instant fail for me. How about Claire? She needs a new adventure; Leon and Chris have had their fun. Jill would be nice, but she was in RE5. Rebecca, maybe? Barry is too old. Carlos would be kinda cool, or maybe Billy?

For gameplay, I'd like to see the option to play with the fixed camera angles of old or behind-the-shoulder ala RE4/RE5. Of course, you'd have to have an auto-aim option for the old angles. But since RE4 and RE5 have made far more money than the old games, expect to see that style. As long as the game is not co-op and the inventory is RE4-style, I'll be happy.

Barry may be too old to be a main character but It would be nice to see him as a cameo, maybe he could have a similar role to hunnigan? or perhaps as part of an prologue.

I would Also like claire to be the main character. However I also want a reunion between Leon, Claire, Ada and Sherry. I would like the story to focus mainly on claire and sherry with leon and Ada taking more of a back seat (while still being a major part of the story) this time. Hell maybe they could set it up like RE2 and have scenarios for Leon and Claire .

Unlikely, but yes I would also love to see this, maybe if she was a few years older too (say 5) that way she would be more pro like Jill. Just think of the options..

I just think that it would be best for the franchise to have a female lead for the next game. Maybe that will motivate RE6's producers to tone down the wall-to-wall action and instead take a different approach.

Claire and Rebecca are even tempered characters. And that could influence how the game would be built around them.... if they were the protagonists.

Regarding Barry, I think it would be interesting to see if the Raccoon city incident motivated him to train his daughters. Would be rather interesting if one or both of them were introduced if Barry was to have a part in future games as you've said either in part of a prologue or even in role or temporary role as a support character like Ingrid Hunnigan as you mentioned.

Of course, if they were to have a meetup it would be nice to have a mention of say Ark or Barry at a point. Though, I do like the idea of the scenarios back again.

I think crimson heads should be present for that, but not every zombie can be super fast and aggressive. The series' mainstay has always been the "classic" zombie, and I'd love to see them return.

As for not ripping off of Left 4 Dead, why not? L4D ripped off of RE big time! Hunters, smokers (aka lickers), Zoey being a complete Claire ripoff... I could go on. But still, L4D isn't scary or creepy like RE is; it's an action game. A cheesy one, at that. How can anyone take the boomer seriously, anyway?



Ugh, I hope not. I loved the Outbreak games, but I hated being rushed through them due to that virus gauge.

I like Sheva. But I didn't consider her for the lead in the next game because her first game was an action game. And I think her fans expect no less from her in whatever she does next.

However, I think she could develop into a more interesting character if given the chance.

I like this idea. After what he went through against Umbrella, I don't just see Barry retiring because he's "too old." He seems like the type to keep fighting (or assisting the fighting) until he physically is unable to do so.

I didn't hate Sheva, either. However, many of us feel that RE5 would have been better if it were more similar to RE4 (e.g. no co-op), and thus feel she was an unnecessary playable character.

I hope for a completely "new" Resident Evil; no more known characters (or maybe someone related to them), probably base on a big city (kind like Raccon City) where you can have access to most of the places there; and zombies (some new kind of the T-Virus), even Crimson Heads would be nice.!!!

I wonder if Capcom would have the balls to actually do that. They will need to do it one day. The main characters are relatively "old".

Unless they rewrite the bios of all the classic RE characters (most of them in their 30's and 40's) and make them younger. Start making prequels when they were in the academy or something.

So they will need to introduce new characters someday. Maybe in the next game they can create a few new ones and slowly have them take over.

^^ I hope not, only reason the characters are getting older fast is because Capcom are moving the RE world forward in time a lot.

They should do another Raccoon City type deal, with several games taking place in close proximity, timewise.

Have the next few games takes place in 2009 or something, nothing happened then yet.

Well, my idea for having some older characters but technically new was having Barry's daughters at a point. They probably would have picked up a few things from their father, one would think. Would also logically make sense for characters to be involved and would still be connected in a manner to the original games without the characters' being too old.

Well, I was mainly meaning things - mostly as books and/or reports similar to Wesker's second report or something of that manner to just connect things a little bit easier than having the confusion with some of the newer things (for instance, I wouldn't mind more information on Sheena Island to Umbrella and the like within the past period of the timeline).

Though, I'd much rather have something like Barry's daughters (one or both) showing up in some of the games or something as a logical choice for a "new" character.

I like the idea of Barry's daughters making an appearance, although their names (Polly and Moira, I believe) aren't the best.

In my opinion, if RE6 is to succeed and simultaneously not be a reboot, it will need any combination of these components:

- Ada Wong
- Sherry Birkin
- Zombies
- 'The Organization'
- TriCell
- Less third person shooter, more survival horror
