But every one has their opinion whether is offensive or positive, but at the end of the day we are still who we are. We shouldn't let this hate and love relationship of the movies and games come into what we share in common. People loves most of the games and hate some of the games. I recall RE4 being bashed on and we have had the whole entire situation again now with the movies. But end of the day who cares. Like what you like.
I agree the game story lines are much better, when i watch the movies I don't even really pay attention the story lines.

As clearly Inferno has worked out, specficially I wasn't attacking people who like the film... well no direct intent was made to anyone pro or not here. The fact that week-in-week-out people choose movies and most of the time they probably don't deserve the money they make when the majority of reviews pan them. Which is where my brainless horde comments come in, generalisation based on a fickle week to week film viewership.
This isn't the RE films alone, this is a lot of films. People point to metacritic or RT and say "Look, this film was crap - the majority of reviewers said so" but then it makes $30 million on opening weekend. And $100+ million in overall run. And $200+ worldwide. And then it gets sequels. And a mass of people go "Why? The first one wasn't even that great?!" And then go back to the reviews and say "Look, this film was crap - etc."
But that's just that when the bigger thing comes from the people complain afterwards, and not actually the people not like you who liked it and were happy to pay for the ticket. Especially in cases involving sequels, like this one. Half the tickets probably sold because people wanted to see how bad the film was after not liking the last one, but of course seeing the film and paying for the ticket means you're adding to the films profit and ensuring that more will be made.
At the same time I'm not attacking anyone for that, but I do think people who knew they weren't going to like it before they stepped in the doors, and were only going to help the chances of another film being made. And then the people who do like it (and face it or not, attack not intended, but it is a minority - both in this thread and in general online) seem to need some level of hardcore need to defend the film even if the most recent one was better/worse/same as the earlier ones.
If you didn't like the earlier films, you're not going to like this one either by the looks of all the comments around here. Your choice if you see the film still of course (looking at you Inferno) but realise in doing so you're going to help make the next one happen. And then you'll be back next time saying how crappy the damn thing was. Most likely anyhow.

As much as i think they took the R.E. characters from the game just to make people wanna watch it, They did a honorable job with putting them in the movie, Jill was ok but look at chris and clair, Chris is in a cell and clair was wondering around the desert and were the hell is leon!!!! I just noticed yesterday that the Axe guy from the movie was in R.E. 5 other then that i do like the movies!

Where can they go from here. They plan on making a RE5 movie. The games were all abotu preventing a global epidemic. The movies did it half way through the series. Now it seems everyone is dead. Nothing but a handful of survivors now. Whats the point of the series now, civilization is lost. Are they going to retcon the whole global epidemic and start making settlements or something. It seems Umbrella is dead and any reason or attempts at global domination is pointless. There are no people to dominate. Way to go Anderson. [sarcasm]

At least I was right about Capcom not owning the rights to the films, ha ha.

Capcom control or lack of control is one thing, by Sony is profiting from these films anyway. Their the second biggest money earner in Sony's releases (Spiderman is the first) and it's the reason they did jump on board with Capcom straight away to be the studio that supported them with Degeneration (and it's upcoming sequel).
I need to check the EPK materials, which I do have a copy of, but for the first couple of films Anderson tried to work with Capcom on them, and Okamoto back when he was still with Capcom was on set for the original film a lot. But I think since then they've had little to do with it other than occasional cross promotions.
