  • So is the Capcom TGS press event COMPLETELY over?

'Cause I was really looking forward to a Damnation teaser, something on RE6, and/some Revelations gameplay.

I can't believe Capcom would have NONE of these to show for us at something like TGS.

This whole conference is a load of shit. I stayed up for Sony's conference. I'm sad to have wasted my time.

          UHM NO.

ABSOLUTELY NOT WHO ME WHY WOULD I DO THAT?

...>_> I posted it before I checked up on this thread. I subscribed to e-mail updates on this thread, and assumed because I didn't get any e-mails, it didn't get any replies, so I posted it there. My fail. Ah well.

There's going to be another title announced tomorrow it seems:

There was a time when you would be looking forward to what Capcom had in store for their lineup. I haven't looked hard to see their events, but after hearing about Dead Rising content, a DMC reboot no one asked for and a new title with mixed impressions....do we really want to know what Capcom has in store for Resident Evil 6? I mean, we already have a 3DS game and a 3D CGI Leon movie in the works....I'm kind of dreading the thought of what they might unveil...if the 4th spot is saved for 6 and it looks promising I'll be happy to lay my fears to rest and hope the teaser or whatever is shown will actually be in the final product.

There's still a long way for Damnation to be in teaser form since it'll be out in like 2 years later.

Revelations is still in its very early production stage too. Capcom have only worked on it for few months, which includes exploring the 3DS hardware as well as well as porting the MT Frameworks. This leaves very little time they have spend on creating the actual game up till now. Even if there's any trailer, it will only be shown at the 3DS event this 29th.

We don't know that Revelations isn't Resident Evil PSP scaled for better graphics on the 3Ds. I still think that might have been where that game came from.

Degeneration had a teaser with Claire walking into the air port, and Ronnie waving in one direction long before the movie came out, by the way. That's what I'm expecting from damnation -- A very small preview, but a preview nonetheless. Just to give a very light hint as to what we'll see.

There was something recently about Revelations never being the PSP game, and the PSP game still being in development.

Wow man, that's amazing. And to think, Nintendo, the company has been criticized for the longest time for having the most graphically incapable console, squeezes out the 3DS. Those graphics are amazing, especially for a mobile device.

But I still stand by the notion that they have had enough time to give us 5 minutes of even BETA gameplay. Capcom develops their games at a pretty fast rate. But MAYBE if we don't see anything about it soon it means they are actually taking their time...? No?

Anyway, yeah. You're right. Bla bla. I'll be back.

The first teaser for Degeneration was first shown end of Oct 2007, almost a year before its release in Japan cinema. Damnation is scheduled for release 2 years from now. I think it is more realistic to expect a teaser to be shown next year.

Capcom work fast, but NOT that fast. Most if not all of the developers only got their 3DS development kits this year. Look at RE Revelations E3 demo. They reused the assets for the characters, and there's barely any backgrounds. It is a clear sign that they wasn't given a lot of time to create the demo, and that they are still in a very early stage of development. Kojima also stated that their MGS3 Naked Sample were made in 2 months, and again most are reused assets. SSF IV 3D were only 10% done as well, although it is a port.

As for RE6, I've no idea about that. I guess Capcom have no idea or have difficulty finding a producer that's up for the task to handle this game. Jun Takeuchi feels pressured on RE5 after Mikami's major success with RE4. Instead of working on RE6, he opt to work on RE Revelations instead. Even Mikami also stated just very recently that he was extremely pressured to make RE4 a success because RE4 will have been the last game in the series if it flopped.

Resident Evil 4 and 5 disagree with you.
