Or, "The door is bolted shut from the other side. There is no way to get in." That works too. I'm pretty sure there are areas in the RE games that have doors like that, where you can't get in no matter what, but they aren't boarded up. There may even be a couple in RE3, but I don't remember.

No, the boarded up doors are a VISUAL symbol that the door is not to be used and it doesn't distract you into thinking it can be used. Changing the message doesn't mean you might not go back to it later.

I don't remember doors like that ever in Resident Evil but Silent Hill is full of them.
